It was a two hour flight and then a one and a half hour speedboat ride. But Raimiti was everything we had hoped it would be for us. We are staying here with one other couple from London, and we have this beautiful isolated destination to ourselves. We are staying in thatched huts with no electricity, but we do have running hot and cold water. The atoll is a tropical paradise. The meals are outstanding. We may not leave!!!... read more

It is so nice to be back in the South Pacific.We have enjoyed lovely weather averaging around 25C and a nice humidity. We are staying at a cute beach cottage just a short walk from town. Yesterday we did a guided trip around the southern part of the island. Today and tomorrow we have rented a car so we can explore at our leisure. The moai (heads) are amazing to see. We are staying in a wonderful old hotel with a fabulous view of the ocean. We can hear the waves crashing in all day long. We spent part of our day wandering along the beach and for lunch we enjoyed empanadas and beer.... read more
