I left Nashville this morning well rested. Today, I was in three states: Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. On my way to Chattanooga, I saw a highway sign for Russell Cave National Monument. Trying to be flexable, I decided to explore the cave. It was about 15 minutes off the freeway through beautiful country. I know I keep saying that but I am in love with the grasslands and trees that I have seen on this trip. In the area of the Cave, they have traced life (through carbon dating) to 14,500 years ago. Simply amazing. I met another couple in the park who have been to 142 National Parks. They sure love nature. I stopped for lunach in an old authentic BBQ café.
