Another great blog! Geez Dave, through your words you almost make me feel that I am there with you. I must say that it's an amazing experience to share these Ethiopian travels, all be them vicariously, through you. Ethiopia is one of those places that I had always assessed as being too dangerous or dodgy to traverse, but your escapades have proved me wrong....Keep them coming my friend :)
THANKS NICK I appreciate you spend the time to post an incisive comment...and that you have tuned into the vibe I am attempting to convey...living an experience...albeit mine...rather than simply observing it...much appreciated.
Big School pics ...and I always thought Big School was "big" but it wasn't really, was it? Great pics and some good memories. That auditorium is just ingenious and spectacular. What an asset for the school. Well done Dancing Dave! Cheers Carey
Honorable travels! I feel so touched by the gentle way that you meet and honor these people and share their beauty with us. I also so appreciate your sharing the short-sighted politics that may destroy these treasures of human diversity. Your way of travel is a blessing and a guide to all of us.
Yet another excellent blog! If you define 'taking one for the team' as downing a few pints of the local amber nectar then I must take one for the team more often ;)
Keep 'em coming Dave, I really do enjoy your blogs :)
I'M TAKING ONE NOW...ARE YOU NICK? Many definitions...many ways...straight arm (difficult)...bent elbow (easy)...taking a bullet...not recommended.
Thanks for your fine words...from one to another who enjoys a turn of phrase...and enjoys photo composition...much appreciated.
Beer and More Beer Many thanks for your weekly instalment once again - good memories - I started taking photos of the different beers here for Michael but gave up and just drank them instead.
GREAT TO HERE FROM YOU ROS Yes...this blog is for Mike...honouring the achieving of his quest. A little birdy tells me you are in Mexico...how about a Mescal or two..? Look forward to hearing about it...and the pics.
:) Interesting stuff. It's always great to learn something new, especially about places such as Ethiopia that are well renowned for having a vast and vibrant history and culture.
I would of been hugely impressed if you had managed to actually come away with a picture of the Ark of the Covenant though ;)
IT'S THE STORY THAT COUNTS Now that I have your attention...I hope you liked the story...it is the highlight of the blog...complemented by the photos...the history of Ethiopia is amazing.
A great entertaining entry ! thanks Dave for this very entertaining entry, which brought a touch of adventure & discovery to my first morning coffee ! now I am really looking forward to part 2 and the encounters you will both have along the way.
My wife Denise & I like to travel "on paths less travelled" that capture our imagination, inspire my photography & where we mix with locals & remain safe.
