One of the big attractions around Darwin is Litchfield National Park, which about 90 minutes from Darwin. We were lucky enough that a mate, Jason, let us borrow his 4x4 ute for the week we were around so we could make the trip out to see the park... cheers Jason!! The park is famous for its natural waterfalls, swimming holes and termite mounds. We set off before sunrise with an esky fill of food and drink and our walking and swimming gear packed. As it is still the wet season in Darwin, not all of the swimming areas were accessible due to the sheer volume of water which closes the roads of makes swimming too dangerous. There is also some risk of crocodiles getting into some areas due to the flooding, this also closes some areas.
