Hello Michael
Our dear long lost friend. I'll have to send an email and get caught up. It was a fun long weekend. Lots of great food. We miss you.

Foodie heaven
What a way to spend your anniversary. ... Happy times. And what amazing food and minions too. Another place in the US for me to visit. It's useful to know about the taxi problems ... Booking a shuttle or cab prior to arrival sounds like a good idea.

Foodie heaven
Pre-booking transportation is not a bad idea but we did learn all we needed to do was walk to the far end of the pick up area and there was another stand with few people. I imagine that is the one all the locals walk to. We saw it as we were leaving with the limo driver. Yes please put New Orleans on your list.

So, we'd better visit NO one day...
You mentioned NYC and SF as being "cities with charm and their own special character" and went on to include NO on that list. We have visited two of the three and agree with you there. So I guess we have to visit New Orleans one day then because there we haven't yet been. /Ake

You'd better visit
Hey Ake, yes, you should add it to the list. A unique city and you'll have a good time.

Happy 21st Binkleys! NOLA is an enchanting place and I love love cajun food! I remember going out to the swamps and having a crawdad feast with a bunch of fun lovin' bayou boys, the day after marti gras. Such a fun place!

NOLA is enchanting
Love, love, love the cajun food. Crawdad festivals are a blast, back to the basics. Glad you have such great memories.

Food photos
Food is artistic, especially in a town like this. Amazing flavors and aromas filling the air. As you walk down the street you find yourself sniffing the air and wondering where that delightful smell is coming from. ....and knowing it will be your next stop.

21st Anniversary N.O.

Yum to the max!
What a great time, especially since you got to share it with the friends from your wedding--21 amazing years ago! Food, history and music--what a delicious celebration!

21st Anniversary N.O.

Yum to the max!
We were all dressed up and dining fine. The food was amazing. This was the opposite of our wedding barefoot on the beach in Barbados. Variety is the spice of life.

Yum!
My mouth is watering! We were lucky to live in New Orleans for 4 years. It truly is one of the few unique cities in the US. Nothing better than a bowl of gumbo, several pounds of crawfish, a dozen salty oysters and lots of beer to wash it down. I'm glad you had fun in your brief stay. I'm amazed at how many of the big restaurants you managed to fit in in such a short time. P.S. This time of year is better than visiting at Mardi Gras. If you didn't enjoy the college kids, you for sure would not like Mardi Gras. Many locals leave the city during this time of year because it is just too much. I'm hungry now and it is going to be impossible to find Etouffee in Budapest......
6th April 2015

YUM
Sorry you can't find the étouffée in Budapest. :) 4 years would damage your palate for the rest of the world. Yep, pounds of crawfish and oysters are the way to go. We ate small amounts at each stop so we could keep going. But we were miserable by the end of the day.

"Awesome"
Dave, I can so imagine you in NOLA. To be there with Den, Dave and MJ would have just been ..well...awesome. That food, those vibes, the voodoo and french quarter, Im with Ren on this one, why cant we drive to New Orleans for breakfast and lunch..and dinner. I actually made a cup of coffee to sit down and enjoy this blog with, was worth the read. So glad you travelled in the style you all deserve, a stretch my friend, only way to go. Happy Anniversary again x

Awesome
Oh Cindy, you'd love it. Come on over! We''ll have to rendezvous. NOLA is about excess. The flavors of the french, the spanish ...and the cajun spices. YUM...oh and beignets.

Thanks for the info
Nice way of describing the little pleasures in life we enjoy most and for me, a new desire to explore the States, as NOLA looks beautiful. Congratulations on your celebration too

Stretchy pants at the ready!
We'll definitely remember to wear stretchy pants when we visit New Orleans. Actually we have to wear stretchy pants in a lot of places because we like our food a bit too much ;). New Orleans on our list and we WILL make it there...the food sounds and looks amazing and is right up our street. Happy anniversary again!

Stretchy pants at the ready
You won't regret it. The taste buds will be dancing. A city of sinful delights.

Happy Anniversary!
Congratulations on 21 happy years! Sounds like you celebrated in style. I love the limo ride!

Anniversary happiness
Yes Rachel, the limo was the universe taking care of us. We had fun but New Orleans is sensory overload. Plus it is hard to eat a normal amount of food because you want to taste everything.
