A fully lived life
If I can take away one lesson from our teacher, Tara Cloud, it would be to live in the present, an important one. I treasured her blogs and her thoughtful comments to all that blogged. Thank you so much Binkleys and BVchef for representing this community and sharing your travels to Santa Barbara to say goodbye to such a lovely soul. RIP soul sister.

Thank you for putting words to such a special day
Simply reading the comments of those who have posted are tribute to Tara and her reach throughout the world. She was such a special person that so many who never had a chance to meet her felt as though they had. I am fortunate to have some memories with her in South America. Your posting was beautifully written and captured the spirit of the day. Thank you for putting this to (virtual) paper. I am grateful to have been able to share this day with 2 of my favorite people.

"She taught people to let their inner child out to play and to enjoy each moment"
What a perfect summary of Tara. I still wait for comments on my FB and late night messenger windows. Losing Tara has been so hard for someone I didn't get to meet in time. Thank you Dave, Merry, Brendan for remembering Tara x

She taught people to let their inner child out to play
Cindy, I know you and Tara had become close. I know she longed to hike with you. I have a piece of Tara jewelry I'm sending to you. When you visited South America you can wear them. You will be able to have a piece of something that was hers.

Tara would love this!
I'm so glad that you, Dave and Brendan were able to attend this celebration. Tara was always so thrilled when she got the opportunity to meet new people and I still remember the message she sent me when she met Brendan for the first time - she was so happy. For someone who said she was hopeless with technology, it's ironic that Tara made so many friendships and touched so many people through TravelBlog and Facebook :) We miss her :(

Tara would love this!
We were so happy to attend and meet so many of Tara's life long friends. They had wonderful stories to tell. It is ironic that technology became her friend and we are thrilled it did because she reached out to so many of us.

Thankyou
Oh fuck....I just read this...I had no idea. For me Tara was also such a supportive and encouraging person ...to me in low times and shared times through my blogs. I too never met her but felt her close...and thought I would one day meet her. Thanks for this tribute. And yes...the best tribute we can make is to grab life and be here now.

Thank you
Paul, Tara passed away in Arequipa in February. Tara had a way of making people feel so special. We all must grab life and celebrate Tara. She remains in Peru. I hope to visit her some day.

In memory of Tara
Thank you Mj, Dave and Brendan for representing the Travelblog community at Tara's farewell memoriam in Santa Barbara where her soul no doubt returned home. Denise & I having spent time with her and traveling to Peru specifically to do so, will not forget her. Tara had a determination to pursue life her way and on her terms. Your words and photos will ensure her memory is preserved for all of us. Thank you.

In memory of Tara
We enjoyed being a part of the celebration. We all appreciated Tara was her own person and pursued life her way and on her terms. That is to be admired.
