Your boat trip sounds amazing, and I loved the bit about the blond woman and the waterfall, haha. The office is all quiet and boring...and the builders are still drilling annoyingly from time to time. I'm sure this is info you didn't want to miss... Hx

Hi Jyoti! Great to hear from you. Whisky bar sounds very tempting, but as you it all gets very expensive here! I'd love to drop in to visit you but in fact my homeward bound journey is really non stop from here to London via Copenhagen with night-train. But thanks for the invitation. I'm building up a great list of ukulele contacts across the globe, it's very exciting... Cxx

Hi Arch, We had great times in Stockholm. Oslo is fine, I was quite relieved there's not so much to see because it meant I could lie in the park for half a day. Cxx

that's very interesting about the architect who designed helsinki, when i was there i thought to myself how very st petersburgian it appeared (not that i've been but i have an image of what it would look like, and helsinki lived up to it. that big train station in particular. i remember eating some good cake in helsinki but i can't remember where otherwise i'd recommend it to you. look forward to pictures. xxx

tether boat
catchpole that is a funny/upsetting/stressful/scary/ultimately amusing because nothing truly bad happened train/boat story, i'm so glad the horror film portacabin carpark scenario didn't come true!!! at least you didn't then find yourself locked out of your own cabin by those nasty germans and have to resort to torrents of abuse directed towards their luggage...... bon voyage my friend xxxx

Do I know where Hell is?
...hell is in Helsinki. Actually, no; just kidding. I've been there and it's a lovely place with people who REALLY know how to drink. I was once taken home by some music lovers who did me the great honour of preparing a midnight snack, using up the last of their moose meat. It tasted pretty good but then, I was damn hungry.

Hi Mub! Yep all is well - it was a lovely ferry trip and Helsinki is great. They're having one of the hottest ever summers, so I'm lucky to get all this sun. Today it's much cooler after last night's storm but still lovely and warm. Cxx

Hey Arch! Thanks - it's good to know there's some entertainment value in there... I was warned about the Roaming thing so I'm only using free Internet that I can pick up (for example I'm sitting in front of the cathedral in the sun overlooking a lovely square- I think I might be picking up God's own wireless network... He works in mysterious waves... (ha ha!) I was surprised there was free wireless on the ship. Cxx
