Worth the Wait Wow, so many beautiful places! I can really feel how warm and wet and lush Hawaii is. The lava is unreal, as are the cliffs. You are a trooper pedaling all that way. "forgot their name" is a Tree Datura, genus Brugmansia native to Peru. Hallucinogenic! Your photos are a trip too...
finally Fresh travelblogs from my favorite travelblogger! You always seem to visit the places that make me drool. Looks like this is also a must visit. Awesome pics!! So wild, with forest, rivers, ocean... what more could we ask for? Except an exceptionally dressed lady companion of course- you saved the best for last in the pictures huh? Great Post!
grrrr... I HATE your travelblog entries. Why? You always go hiking and backpacking to the places I only have dreamed about for years!! In addition your photos make me drool. on the plus side I now know where to find a guide! This is an awesome post to some of Africa's closest thing to Alpine scenery. I love it, thanks for the tips and for sharing!!
where, when, how, why? Hey! Amazing to hear you are up and at 'em again! Where are you going to road trip to? maybe the wind will decide. Im very happy you are off on another adventure, please do make frequent travelblogs!

Granada I studied in Granada in July 2005 and fell in love with it. It's the best place on Earth. Thanks for the photos. I have many of similar shots. Great memories.
incredible photos it's been a long time since I was in the mountains for days on end. used to do it all the time... and then emerge, to find that supermarket or pizza place !! I relate!
los lugares del arco iris great pictures! Thanks for the message, hope all is well back home. I cant wait to see Cajon de Maipo for myself! I guess many Chileans dont enjoy nature enough(from what my Chilean friends tell me), a shame considering the wealth of amazing places up and down the country. El Morado, Yerba Loca, Cerro El Plomo, Cajon de Maipo, Rio Olivares, Laguna Negra y El Yeso, Aconcagua... its amazing how many fantastic places are within 3 hours of Santiago! It rivals any other city in the world for outdoor treasures of Alpine Splendor. Someday I will be like you- and be priveledged enough to visit some of them! :)
Navajo Sandstone is Hypnotic... The Navajo Nation Indian Reservation is larger than most states in the US. Archaeologically it is known that the ruins of the four corners region belong to the Anasazi and other groups now long gone, the Navajo arrived after the dissappearance of these groups after 1300 AD. This is based on liguistic evidence, although most of the Dine(Navajo) think this is nonsense and claim direct links to these ancient people. The Navajo and Apache languages are part of the Athabaskan group, which originated in the Pacific Northwest and spread out after 1500 AD.
Did you make it to Zion?!? Look forward to more posts!!
Up and Down? Cool to hear a perspective on the landscape of the Four Corners region of the USA from someone so well travelled! The Canyon is amazing, did you happen to notice the ravens? They aren't crows, the ravens are twice as big, very smart and very vocal. Sacred to all the Native Americans! For the record, the elevation in Santa Fe is 7000 feet- and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is lower at 6800 feet. Furthermore, the Grand Canyon is nearly due west of Santa Fe! so it s not really "Up There" but really "down and over there"! :)

Some people say I´m crazy, but what´s crazy?? I guess I am not the typical Backpacker as far as what I do and what I don´t do when I travel is concerned. The big thing for me is nature AND this trip is not only to see what´s around me but to see what´s inside me as well (adds an interesting note to it:-).
Thing is also that I´m one of those travellers that find it really hard to sit INSIDE a bus looking out. I just have to be smack bang in the middle of all the beautiful places on this amazing planet. Visiting cities is easy. But how visit nature? How get around if not in a bus or a ... full info
