Where we went:- Bangkok, we spent the most time here seeing monuments, walking around kohsan road, taking tuk tuks and took one day trip - our day trip was to the floating market (so hot that day) where we were paddled through the market on a long boat, bought cheesy plates with our pictures on them, had an amazing lunch of chicken, BBQ pork, egg (well Chris had the egg), rice, cilantro, chilies, cucumber and some red sauce - YUM, for dessert we had these thin crispy wafers with meringue and mango/ papaya soo good! Then there was a motorized long boat to take us through another side, we ended up at a hotel that had a cobra show - we didn't go, we didn't want to! Then it was to the bridge over the river ... read more

So my hope to update our travels before leaving Australia (obviously) did not happen. Between my power cord disappearing in the last few days of Aldinga, to lack of power at powered camp-sites and finally having to send my computer and (pictures) home before we left for Thailand resulted in no update about our Aussie adventures. To provide everyone with a snap shot of what we did here is a quick synopsis of what we did: Our outback adventure consisted of 12 days and over 5000km travelled. Starting in Adelaide we drove 3 days north to Alice (Springs) making stops at roadhouses and towns along the way. The most noteable small town was Coober Pedy, an opal mining town with many attractions underground! We gathered supplies in Alice and headed out to the East MacDonnel ranges ... read more

Hi All! We have one week left here in Aldinga, and it is my goal before we leave to update our blog about our last campervan adventure and our time here. Though Aldinga is not a regular stop on most trips downunder I would highly recommend a vist to the area! Though quiet suburban, it is still a small town nesseled in between the Mclaren Vale Valley and gorgeous stretches of white sand beaches! On weekends we are either at the beach playing in the surf or on our bikes visiting local farmers markets and nearby wineries. I have been fortunate to be able to take part in some of the outings and field trips that Chris' class has gone on, we've visited local monuments around Adelaide, learnt about the aboriginal culture and have been welcomed ... read more

I must prefaces this entry with the fact that I am not actually busy like I would be back home, but almost everyday I have something to do. Whether it is going to the bike shed to work on my bike (which i have to do again on Friday for the third time) or a day trip that we have planned or doing mundane things like laundry and grocery shopping. It helps that every places has unusual hours, if I want to go to the Market it is only open Tuesday and Thursday 6am to 2pm or 6am to 4pm Friday to Sunday and the bike shed is only open Friday to Saturday; 11am to 5pm. LOL there (at the bike shed) 11am is considered early. I’ve also tried to keep up with running and on ... read more

It has been a while since our last blog entry and thankfully nothing too crazy has happened. We’ve all gotten the standard tourist sun burn. For me, my shoulders finally no longer look like tomatoes and Chris’ arms are looking less like lobsters. So far the weather has been nice, windy but nice. It has rained a bit while we’ve been here but the other day it bucketed for a bit, by bucketed I mean poured like crazy. Though we’ve been told a really big rainfall will actually cause the city to flood for a day or so. Thankfully we are safe and dry in our cozy apartment on the fifth floor watching TV shows that I never thought would be seen on television again, shows like Charmed and Macgiver; lol it is better than nothing. ... read more

In trying to update everyone on life in Melbourne, I skipped over our time in Sydney. I would like to thank Leah and Madeleine, Leah was our awesome tour guide and Madeleine was a fantastic host; both Chris and I can not wait to head back to Syndey. Here are a few photos from the two days we were in there for those who are not on facebook.... read more

Finally we both have seats on the 23:45 flight to Sydney, currently they are not together but hopefully at the gate we will be able to make things work! After "having" to fly first from LAX to YVR, Chris and I were tempted to upgrade our flight from Vancouver to Syndey. Unlike our flight form Los Angeles it is not cheaper to fly first class ($419 for executive/ first class vs. $875 economy) and after our first oops $1,800 for both us to upgrade is not in the travel budget. HOWEVER for those planning on traveling for Syndey $900 all in for an up grade from the economy fare is a steal of a deal because buying first class from the get go will cost you $9,048/person each way. Hopefully our next update is from Sydney, ... read more

Wow! So we were patting our selves on the back for making it to Calgary airport avoiding major back ups on the Deerfoot, after someone collided with a telephone pole at the Airport Trail exit. Airport Trail being the only major thoroughfare to YYC. Our stay at the River Rock Casino was fantastic, great hotel room with an uber comfy bed. Only down side was our wake up call never came. BUT I had a back up alarm set and we were at the airport almost 3 hours early to find out that we needed to cancel our trip and reschedule it on the spot because I filled out our names on our booking reservation WRONG, as I am Ms Rebecca Peever not Ms Peever Rebecca. Apparently that is a pretty big deal. Please feel free ... read more
