The Girl from Ipanema goes walking... Wow, what a contrast to India. How do you get over the culture shock, except to think you have died and gone to heaven...it helps to have Christ the Redeemer looking over all to complete the picture. Your pictures are great as ever. However, you must have been too busy looking to take some pictures. I am looking forward to your trip in South America. I'm following Tink and Laura [blogger=89827], Nate and Jessie [blogger=179118], and Mike and Donna [blogger=186297], all of whom are approaching the continent from the othere end. Where will you visit and how long will you stay...and were you really starting on April 28th?
It was hard to look away! haha. We arrived in Brazil on the 18th April, but we're off to Paraguay tomorrow. Its a shame to spend such a short time in Brazil as the country and the people are amazing - definately a place we will revisit in the future. However, we need to be a little cautious with the budget to make sure we finish our trip, which we're hoping to end in Mexico. Basically we're hoping to do all but four of the South American countries (except Venezuela, Suriname and a couple others up that way) and central america and up the carribean coast of Mexico...but we'll see how the money goes! (We're keeping tabs on some of those blogs you mentioned and hopefully we cross paths with some of those guys along the way!)
Helo Amy and Chris, Barbara and Terry told us to log in onto Wonderlust. Loved your travel blog, amazing pictures especialy over Everest. What an adventure for you both memories you will treasure for ever.Enjoy the rest of your time in Rio .Best wishes to you both Shirley and Tony xx
In the one picture of you, you don't look hot and sweaty... but cool and relaxed. It must have been the beginning of the day. I loved the color of all the clothing. Do you use a special camera setting?
Awesome Thanks! Your blog was so well written I could smell the exotic poverty - I dont know that I could do any time in India for the reasons you mentioned, but through your blog I can see why people go there. Looking forward to your next blog :)
Another of a long list of blogs meeting the same high standard for prose and photography. Thanks for enduring the fiercesome heat so that we didn't have to in order to enjoy this vividly described adventure.
Hefferlumps! Love your pics of the elephants...or hefferlumps as Donna always calls them. It\'s good to hear that they are being treated well there in Chitwan and nice to see elephants still with their tusks, something you don\'t see all that often in Asia.
Yuck! That powder is a bugger to get off! Let's just hope you don't wake up in the morning with an extra leg or ear, courtesy of those wonderful, Chinese, chemical manufactures :/
Great pics! Ha, now that's a challenge from Shane...can you imagine the look on the embassy staff's face if you did use that pic for your application?!
Seems like you had great fun during Holi, the pictures really capture the fun and excitement on the face of the kids.
ANNAPURNAS The amazing adventures of Chris & Amy continues into the Himalayas...and to ensure he believes you...Dad had to come too! What a joy for you all. I love such climes...your pics capture the allure beautifully.
FASHION STATEMENT Gotta say you look mighty fine with the various shades of face paint Amy...I reckon the fashion statement could take off if you could find a marketing ploy...for the "cool set". The remarkable adventures of Chris & Amy continue...be safe.
Beyond my dreams Your story extremely well told and illustrated. Congratulations to both, you - and your adventurous father.
A little late now for me to excperience the wonders of this remakable journey, though we keep taking on a few strenuous hikes! Sadly we can't turn the clock back.
Hi, from Argentina Excellent. Very useful blog. I am not going to do that kind of trekking but I think you described it so well that you deserve a prize, haha What a landscape. But what I like most is the people, always the people. Hugs from Argentina. Graciela.
We are Amy and Chris. After completing our first attempt at a round the world trip in 2012, we are currently fitting in careers around our enduring need to see the world.
Our blog is primarily for family and friends, but we are always flattered to learn that others have read (and on occasion even enjoyed) our writing and photographs. With that said...
Afoot and light hearted, I take to the open road. Healthy, free, the world before me.
The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose...you road I enter upon and
look around! I beli... full info
