Hello from Newfoundland! Hello Suzanne and Glen: we are still following you guys on your great adventure. We are in Newfoundland, Canada on another trip since the last time we met in Belfast. We will be in Canada for a while, driving down to Halifax, then on to Quebec City and Montreal. Then back to Athens, Ga. Always good to follow your blog. Take care, Joe and Jane
Gooday!!!! The two J's Lovely to hear from you both, so good that your continuing with your travels. We have Australian Friends who are enjoying the beauty of Canada and Alaska at the moment too. We have checked out your trip on the map and your covering some Klm. It's so hard to fit everything in, don't you think. I have seen many documentaries on Newfoundland and know it's absolutely beautiful and when I visited Canada when I was younger I remember such beauty although I never went further than Georgian Bay in the Great Lakes area. Although we hope that will change when we visit. So guys keep a look out for all the good spots and we will be picking your brains as to were we need to visit.
We are at the moment experiencing India and boy is it a experience. It's in your face every step you take haha.
Take care of one another and stay safe, enjoy you trip and have lots of fun along the way. Your good mates The Cherrys xxxxxxxx
Great Suzanne and Glenn, the words you did choose to describe the feelings and emotions you have while you are visiting a camp like Ausschwitz are exactly what I felt, when I visited a camp for the first time (we had to do during schooldays...); and every visit after evoked the same feelings... But unfortunately I have sometimes the impression that nothing changed in the world since - as you do.... Thank you for the blog. xxx
Dearest Susanne ? Thankyou for your response Susanne, no wonder that your such a special person, and a lovely friend. You must have been very brave as a young student, to visit such a sad place place.
Hello from Joe and Jane Walsh...Athens, Georgia We got back from our excursion on the 5th of june and ready to go again. It was so nice to meet you guys in Belfast, Ireland, that seems so long ago. Also, we are enjoying your blog, definitely covering some beautiful ground. If you cross the pond to the USA, please look us up. safe travels... J and J
Hi two J's
Well it's certainly lovely to hear from you both, glad to know you arrived home safely. It was indeed lovely to meet you both. We enjoyed Ireland very much, but Befast and the North stole our hearts something about the Northern Irish. Yes we have covered a lot of ground as we only have three months in Schengen country's and then we are head towards.Croatian, Greece and Turkey and then Next 3 month after in India and Sri lanka before we head home for Christmas. Then we head off again. when we have seen all of our children and grandchildren. So we will be heading over that ditch, and we will definitely share a beer with you guys, until then stay safe and keep us updated with your travels and adventures. Love Suzanne and Glen xxxx
So nice! It is a real pleasure to read your blog... especially when you are talking in a so lovely manner of your visit at our place, Saaarbruecken, in Germany and the big Schnitzel and so on... Good luck for you and hopefully see you soon!!!
Nolene Thanks so much Nolene lovely to here from you. We are having a lovely time, even though we find we miss are children. And for me last week was a struggle, has I hadn't been home for 26 years. Things had changed and people had gone, so we did our best and found love and friendship from those who were not close many years ago. We are in Scotland at the moment so I shall not spoil the next installment . Take care Nolene thankyou for dropping us a line it was lovely of you.y
London So great that you are having a wonderful time in London. I did note that Glen hasn't been on the Eye yet is that on the bucket list?
Sorry that the whether has been a bit on the cool side but I guess it is a change from the heat.
We are in the middle of NSW elections we vote next Saturday. Everyone is doing well back here.
Are you getting these comments coming through to you..Just wondering?
Take care
love you Caroline
London reply Hi Caroline, yes we have got both your comments now so they are getting through to us. We have been on the London Eye the first day we got here, with magnificent views of London some of the photos in my blog were taken from the eye. But we enjoyed the climb up St Paul's the best because we climbed the 530 + stairs to get to such a fabulous views. We also purchased a Oyster card but have not used it very much as we are walking rather than catch the underground we try to use the parks as much as possible walking in them is very lovely so we are clocking up around 20klm a day. Walked to Westminster Abbey for Evensong on Sunday Afternoon that was a real treat to hear the beautiful voices of the chorus and then we walked back to Kensington for a roast dinner at the local pub. Sending all our love to you Caroline we miss you
Safe and Sound So glad your families are all OK, Ronnie is on holidays, I went and checked at CBA as I had not seen him, I do hope he, his wife and girls and property came out the other side unscathed. I look forward to the BIG surprise! Love to you both and take care of each other, the other Mrs C. xxxx
Cyclone Marcia Hi to you both, we came out ok after the cyclone, yard is all cleaned up now and power restored. Hope you are both safe and well and thank you for your message. Love from the other Mrs C xxxx
Safe and sound Glad that you weathered Marcia, it's just incredible it didn't do more destruction although I know people lost everything and homes wrecked thank goodness that you were lucky. Adam in Rockhampton lost a huge gum tree which landed on his metal fence which the blew away,so he was very lucky it didn't fall on his home .Elizabeth and Corey were in Newcastle visiting Jillian. Their home was untouched go figure. I havnt heard from Ron but I think that Donna son was checking on them, so I think he would have been fine. We are having a great time here in Taipei every one is so helpful when they know your australian it's a chance for them to practice thier English so they love helping us. Well darling we have couple more weeks here, the next country will be a surprise.? love Mrs C
Hi Nicole What a lovely surprise to hear from you, I hope that your fine and weathered Cyclone Marcia and that your home and shop weren't too affected by it. We worried about you all, it was so sad to see picture of all the devastation in Yeppoon and Rockhampton. I have had my hair cut twice since I left once in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and in Manilla Phillipines not as good as you do my hair darling. They managed to get the colour right so I was glad of that. Say safe darling , love Suzanne
We are a couple of Australians who have decided to travel before we get too old. And wander into the great unknown for a couple of years. What the Native Australian Aboriginals call "Going Walk About" We hope that we will fill our life with wonderful sights and memorys and the joy of making new friends and better understand the people of our world and embrace their cultures and beliefs. And perhaps return to our beloved Australia with a different out look on life.... full info
