Yup, its 45days untill the adventure begins again, on a smaller scale than the last one but still an adventure none of the less. This time I'll be travelling with my gorgeous boyfriend, starting in Las Vegas, moving on to a few days in Phoenix and Colarado, to the big Apple that is New York City, across the ocean to London, down the Eurostar to Antwerp and Brussels. And then the real adventure begins. Russia.. 12nights in the magnificent cities that are St Petersburg and Moscow. The place and the idea of exploring it that really bonded Chris and I on our very first date. Its been at the top of both of our lists of places to visit for a long time but neither were keen on the idea of doing it alone. So maybe ... read more

Like Ho Chi Minh, the transfers from the airport allowed us to book some tours and after loving the city tour of the old Saigon, we booked another one. Our tour guide this time was a young guy called Dung, who was a wealth of information and didn’t try to kill Chris at every turn haha. Bright and early we were collected for our day trip to Halong Bay, a three hour drive through some of the poorest towns and villages I have ever seen, reminded me how fortunate we are in Australia and while we spend our money taking advantage of the poverty that occurs throughout the world, there are people struggling to survive, looking at us in envy. Getting to Halong Bay was breathtaking and as we headed to our junket, who should we ... read more

A day trip out to the Chu Chi Tunnels was a highlight of Ho Chi Minh. These are the underground trenches used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, and I must say there are ingenuis. Walking through the jungle, you never would’ve noticed the holes in the ground or the smoke that was coming out of a few of them if Ziva hadn’t pointed them out. Being the only ones in our group to go through the tunnels, both Chris and I conceded that fighting a war in this fashion would’ve been impossible for the American and Australian troops sent here to fight. Neither of us are exactly tall or big, and imagining a 6foot built solider through these tunnels, well we almost couldn’t to be honest. The tunnels that are now essentially a ... read more

Well here I am, I've now been home 5days and it feels like I never left, how depressing! Everything at home is the same (well nearly everything but Im working on that one), its both comforting and depressing to see that nothing has changed in 5months.. Comforting because Im able to fit back into life here but depressing too.. cos everythings the same! I've caught up with most of my friends now which has been great, everyone keeps asking what Im gonna do for work, fair go people, I've only been home 5 days! 3 when they were asking me! Came home to a packed lounge room with all my parcels, only had 2 casualities out of the 27packages I sent home, so within all the stuff I sent home, only 2 shot glasses broke.. ... read more

Well after 5months on the road I've probably damaged my ears because my Ipods been on full blast, slipped a few discs in my back lugging around my suitcase, my skin with the unexpected sun, my feet with the walking that they're definately not used too, my liver with all the alcohol (cider!! :P), my stomach with the different kinds of food I've been eating and you know what, its all been worth it.. I've discovered some much about myself, I've learnt something I've always really known, that I am strong enough to stand on my own two feet and I dont need anyone else to make me happy, I know now more than ever that you cant be happy until you truely let go of the past and live in the present.. Forget and forgive ... read more

All I can say is thank god my 2hour flight from Frankfurt to Rome was just that, a two hour flight.. Sitting 3rows back from me was a screaming toddler that did not shut up for the whole journey.. If the plane hadnt landed when it did it would have been a race to see who could have killed the kid first, poor thing, not his fault, he was probably in pain but a nightmare for everyone else nonetheless.. Got to my hotel in Rome only to find its completely out the way with no easy way of getting to the city, I knew it was out the way cos its an airport hotel but was hoping there was a metro close by.. No I had to take a bus to the metro and then ... read more

Today is technically the last day off my trip.. My European adventure, I have a day in Rome tomorrow cos I couldnt get a flight out of Frankfurt with my new itinerary, and then a few days in Rome but as far as Im concerned today is really the last day.. That hasnt quite sunk in yet.. This time next week, I'll be back in my own house... So Frankfurt, the 5th largest city in Germany, home to the biggest airport anywhere in Europe, home to 400odd different banks and the main headquarters of the Eurobank, the place where Euro notes are made.. Not a tourist place Frankfurt, it is a business town and yet, I love it here! its got such a good feel to it, i cant explain it, all i know is ... read more

Well I've now arrived in Frankfurt after 10hours on two trains on about 3hours sleep, and am feeling very much like I've stepped into a time warp and am back in Munich, best way I can describe Frankfurt from what I've seen so far.. Reminds me very much on Munich, my hotel is literally across the road from the train station! Convient.. Well yesterday I probably had THE most random day/night of my trip so far.. I was on facebook when I got a msg from a friend from high school, Laura, saying whereabouts in Europe was I cos she was in Warsaw!! OMG! Where was I?! But WARSAW!! Anyway we met up and went out for a meal and another 1L beer (not as pissed this time!) and it was just a really great ... read more

Well I have now arrived in Warsaw after a rather uneventful train ride.. The only thing of interest was that Polish trains dont have ANYWHERE and I mean ANYWHERE to put your luggage, no corridors it cane be left it, your only option is the overhead racks or the doorway.. I was going to unhappily leave mine in the doorway but the lady who got on the train just before and who was in the same position I was kept shaking her head, dont do that.. So we both moved our luggage to the corridor right outside the little seating area.. You know how in movies where you see trains in Europe (ie EuroTrip) and they're those little seater things with 6seats and its in a box.. thats what this was and it turned out ... read more

I was willingly to take back everything negative that I said about Prague trainstation after emerging at Krakow station, 9.30pm to a group of young people trying to sell you accomodation as you stepped off the train.. At least in Prague that let you get in the station before bombarding you.. Trying to work out how to exit Krakow station was a mission and a half, then I finally manged to get a taxi, my hotel was within walking distance but I was in no mood to try and find it in the dark (later discovered I came out the wrong side of the station anyway) after being on a train for 7hours straight and not having eaten since 11am that morning due to the hangover caused by my dear Amanda.. (Brilliant night tho! never ... read more
