Doors of Machu Picchu
Gotta be one of the most enticing doors in the World to be photographed in. I took a pic of my wife there that is a favourite.

Masquerade

And the rain came down
What a lovely story Chekeitha. Like a flower that is watered and then blooms. This pic conveys the joy and living in the moment...priceless.

I find it refreshing and so romantic that...

It has been simply incredibly generous with you to provide openly what exactly many individuals would’ve marketed for an ebook to end up making some cash for their end, primarily given that you could have tried it in the event you wanted. Good Morning Shayri in Hindi

Awesome #relatable content
Hey! This is really awesome. I'm [a black female who is] studying abroad in Chile as well. Thanks so much for posting! Keep your head up, you're amazing :)

Fabulous blog!
Thanks for sharing your experiences and thoughts on this subject Chekeitha. As tourists we usually breeze through a country and rarely get to study its many faces in the way you've been able to do in Chile. Xenophobia is a fascinating subject... as someone who's lived in many places where my 'look' was in the minority, it's given me an insight into the usual xenophobic suspects :) I totally agree with you that assumptions (usually grossly misguided ones) are at the heart of the matter. Safe travels! Cheers, Ren

Thank you for this insightful blog...
and your examination of racism vs classism, and how people accepted you are rejected you based upon where you were from. And thanks for your words about the evangelical churches being accepting of all.

We are all the same...really.
I sit agog reading your missive Chekeitha...all sorts of images and emotions jiggling around. This is such an important story...the implications and perceptions of the dispersal of peoples around the World seeking economic improvement or to escape wars and calamities. May you be able to continue to rise above the prejudice and enjoy your time in Chile. Thanks for sharing. I repeat this is an important story.

I have been thinking about going somewhere with my daughter and I was wondering about Chile.. Thank you for writing this. I am black and I was wondering what it is like to live in that country.. It will feel strange to be there but I want to get out the US and start traveling.. You sure have helped me.. I guess I was soooo scared. Explaining and giving me insight helps a whole lot.. You are very COURAGEOUS!! God Bless. and KEEP TRAVELING!!!

Take 3
I am a firm believer that everyone after they leave school should continue higher education to "obtain a piece of paper" that shows to the World you are qualified to pursue a career, be it a trade, profession, vocation etc. Then you can do anything you like. As you have your "piece of paper" in teaching the World is your oyster. Chile is my "most beautiful place in the World". Go get it girl...may a piece of Chilean sand turn into a pearl for you.
