Great Blog I randomly stumbled across your blog after visiting a wikipedia page on cenotes (which was after looking at a Red Bull cenote diving competition), and you guys have done a great job. Very enjoyable! Keep up the good work, I think I might be back to see new stuff as you publish it. :)
Definitely a true-to-life picture I stumbled upon your blog by accident. Nice, really nice. And you've painted exactly the picture I remember myself - both in photos and text! I'm from the Netherlands, and I was in Rapid City in June 2009, and it was a really neat and organised and above all relaxed mid-american city. We stayed there a couple of days, and it was absolutely worth staying. Friendly, relaxed and hospitable people and an unbelievable scenery in the plains and the Badlands.
A pity you missed the Devil's Tower NM - that was for me really worthwhile too.
When we visited the Mt. Rushmore at night we really got a full dose of American patriottism, and we suddenly got the message of why so many Americans say "proud to be an American". It's sort of force-fed into the little grey cells...
Glad your okay. I am happy to hear you are okay, the accident must have been scary, but at least no one was seriously hurt and you were able to carry on with your journey with little fuss. Reading about all of your experiences has me feeling very jealous right now but it is great that you are having such a wonderful time. unfortunatly my computer wont show the pictures from this installment so will have to wait for you to get back to see them.
American Roadtrip Hi Ceri,

WOW Wish we could have done that bit with u guys! Is it with the new camera - if so - its brill!! Have tried to ring various hotels to speak to you but have struck out each time - this mornings say u haven't arrived - but I can see ur safe and happy! Carry on enjoying !! Love u lots. Mumxxxxx
lovely photos as always Sorry to hear about your camera and Las Vegas being rubbish! Hopefully the other points made up for it. Good luck in the north :-)
PS. Mum and Simon say 'Hi'... ...Do they realise that there's an anguished Poodle over here worrying his fur off about his Mother and the Bald Bloke... and all he gets is a 'Hi' in a Post Script!!!
Tell them Sarah's fine, a bit concerned that they've done a runner as are we! No phone calls, no E-Mail, just an orphaned ball of fluff and a potential new daughter!
ALERT! ALERT! Your Mother and Simon departed my house on Andrew's 21st birthday, (Simon left the party sober!!!), leaving that little fluffy cloud of snapping teeth with us. All day Saturday we were saying 'They'll still be on the plane', knowing how much they like to be couped up together, I'm guessing Sunday was fun!
So they'll be with you now hopefully... let them know prince lost about two and a half pounds of tail hair in the all Salford shearing competition!
Love that you love San Fransico!
Uncool Dx
Wow It's good to hear from you again. I feel like a stick in the mud reading all of your amazing journeys and experiences whilst i just trot back and forth betweenwork and home. That said i shall be demanding full access to your photo collection of your journey with full live commentry from one or both of you. ;).

:-) Good to hear from you again! The whales do sound amazing, and I'm glad you're enjoying it all so much! LA freeways sound like Dallas! I really can't wait to see your photos of USA. Hope you keep enjoying it all, and take care, and see you soon :-)
COMPO!!!!!! You are in the birthplace of compensation, so why are you not surrounded by lawyers demanding you take the driver to court and ensure adequate compensation? I feel a holiday coming on!
Seriously, hope you weren't too shook up, and, yes, thank god for gold insurance.
Mark, is the driving going ok? Not too scary i hope.
Great photos. Cant wait to see you both. Viva Las Vegas.
Mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
glad you're ok Must have been scary, even if no-one was hurt. At least there was no agro.
Your photos are amazing as always - I'd never heard of the petrified forest but it looks amazing and I'd love to see it!
How much longer do you have to go?
Soon be with yous Great to chat yesterday - well it was yesterday for me - althpugh it was 2 days ago for u! As for the flight info - from Heathrow VS0023 arriving LA 18:45 -Virgin as far as I know- doesn't say a terminal. May try and speak to you before Saturday! Take care - Love u lots. Mumxxxx PS Nanna sends her love! spoke to her yesterday - she was worried about you both - didn't tell her you were Rattlesnake hunting!!
Snake, Rattle and Road! Them thar rattlers are scarederer of you, than you of them Ceri, especially as yer man was in Slitherin House at Uni and speaks perfect parcel-tongue, being a Dragon Lord an' all!
Weird weather, it's the end of the world, mehbe you should have stopped off at the big cross for a spot of repentance... of what exactly I'm not sure... but it's always best to be on the safe side!
Roswell looks like it might be a tad themed regarding it's intergalactic freeway accident black spot reputation. I'm kinda surprised they didn't keep The Darkstah in the museum as an exhibit, a bloke who breathes fire and commands snakes to do his will has gotta be from another planet!
Just to let you know I phoned Simon this evening, he wasn't in, but your Mum was arranging flights to Las Vegas... (Oh! GOD... Sue in Vegas... BINGO! :-S )
Looking forward to the next installment.
Oh dear Haha, just remember we're not all Texans! Awful place to start your visit in the US, by the way...you should have started someplace normal, like California. HA! That's a whole different stereotype! If you make it to Colorado I'd be happy to show you around, or at least tell you what you should see. Enjoy the road tripping! :)
