Happened to see your blog. About the Tiananmen event, it was VERY VERY complicated. But it is definitely not what western medias
described. I think both the gov and the protesters should take the responsibility. When the event happened, I was about 13---a student,
liking watching tv. Although I was very young, I still remember a lot of things now. Firstly this event took more than two months, the
country was almost out of control. Secondly, the gov made concessions to the student, but the students never. Thirdly, the troops went to
the city center very peacefully in the beginning, but a lot of soliders had been strangled, burned, and mutilated to death, and the
military vehicles and the buses were burned(I did see all these on TV). Fourthly, the leaders of the students escaped when they heard some message. Fivethly, the gov should not use the force, may be they should use Less-lethal weapons(Actually no less-lethal weapons in China at that time. I guess the gov learned sth. After that, riot police army was founded). This event was a mistake. I still remember my father said the country was in danger. I do not defend the gov, but I think you may have a deeper thought about this event, from every aspects. Three years later, sth happened in Los Angeles. But it seems no one like to mention it again. Every one forget it. In the recent several months, Indian policemen killed a lot of Kashmirs. But the world kept silent. No one care. I can not imagine if this happened in China. So I think the Cold War mentality does exist.--------------Personal thoughts.
the lions are some feng shui thing, they add good luck and make up for feng shui flaws in the building design. Also, if its a half lion/half dragon (I think), then, I shit u not, rubbing the butt is good luck
