Hey guys So we have been pretty useless loading photos and blogging since being in New Zealand but I'll try and summarise what we have done over our time here from where Dan left off. We headed south down the West coast through the Glacier regions of Fox and Franz Josef, Wanaka and finally hit Queenstown. We decided we would go for it and did a sky dive the following day. We could ot have asked for better weather, there was a barely a cloud in the sky and the sun was shining throughout our time on the ground and in the air! It was a glorious day and we both had an awesome time jumping out of the plane at 15,000ft! We met and English couple who were jumping too called Sola and Tom who ... read more

Here we go. Managed to find another public library where the internet is free and I can write the next section of the blog. So here goes. We arrived in Christchurch at 1 a.m and had arranged to stay with some CouchSurfers who agreed to put us up for a couple of nights before we picked up the CamperVan for the month of November. They were a lovely couple who let us use their house, walk their dog and feel very at home in Christchurch. We spent two days there, seeing what the city had to offer, but as it has been badly damaged there didn't seem like there was that much toi do there. That said, we loved walking around the Botanical Gardens which 'took us home' as the punts went past on the river! ... read more

So here we go again. It's been a while for one reason or another...but greetings to you all from the West Coast of the South Island in New Zealand! (What a mouthful!) Anyway, last time I wrote we were just about to make the switch from one side of the Sydney family to the other... We spent 6days with John and Michelle (My dads cousin and his wife) who put us up in their lovely home in St.Ives, a gorgeous leafy Sydney suburb. Not only did they put us up, but they really did treat us to a wonderful second week in Sydney! John took us to see some wonderful beaches (Including the 'Home & Away' strech of sand!), and whilst at home we were cooked for and had everything we could have possible wanted. We ... read more

DANIEL PEAR'S FIRST EVER BLOG ENTRY thanks for reading this blog entry, I really do hope you enjoy it. TAKE 1. Right then here goes. Coming to you live from Sydney, Australia. It is now 11.03p.m and we have been in Oz for.... TAKE 2. So after writing the title and making a start on my first blog I was distracted by the offer of Whisky, a lovely chat with the cousin (once removed) and an 8 hour sleep, so this is my next attempt. Let's see how we go. I gather Carlas last entry came as we finished our trek, and wow! that seems like a long time ago now. So back in Pokhara we kept ourselves busy, eating some nice food, shaving heads, swimming in the lovel... read more

Asia » Nepal » Annapurna » Annapurna Circuit October 10th 2012

Hello all! So we have just returned from our 12days in the mountains and quite frankly we're pooped! We are now back in Pokhara for a few days rest but it's already only a week before we leave for Australia! I'll summarise our trek as best as possible to save reading an extensive essay.... SO, we started on the wednesday 26th sept by getting a tourist bus to Besi Sahar which is the first stop on the Annapurna circut. The "express tourist bus" failed both to be express and tourist which Resulted in Dan and Paul giving up their seats on a crammed local bus to allow some old ladies who were easily over 100 to sit down! Even though this was a pain, it was also a godsend as we met a great Deutch couple ... read more

Hello! So we are back around to this time of the week...dan is very happy as he has been able to get the oxford game on the radio and we have settled down well in Pokhara. loving life right now! So I'll catch you up from leaving Kathmandu and heading off to Chitwan: Tuesday 18th: We woke up very early that morning to pick up a fellow Brit named Paul and head to the bus park to catch the tourist bus to Chitwan. It started off a very grey and drizzly day and this would soon set up our day...not for the better. The average time it take to get to Chitwan national park is 5-7hours and in total it took us just over 8! We had to deal with gridlock on the windy mountain roads ... read more

Wow, ok so lots to update you on! We are back where we were last time we blogged and the scenario is very much the same...Dan is trying desperately to get the game to listen to and I have been left the task to recount our adventures to date. so left off on thursday so.... sunday: So we went to the apple academy school today...was amazing! we went around the whole school visiting each class and asking them how there were and how old they were...they asked us the same back..dan apparently looked like he was in his 30's and one cheeky sod said I looked 60 but he was joking...hopefully! After talking with the headmaster, we then were shown and joined in the national nepali school game called 'kubudee'; its quite similar to bull dog ... read more

Hey there! So we are finally in Nepal!Dan is currentlystressing over trying to get Yellow player to work to listen to the Oxford match so I have been left the grand task of hyping up what we have done so far! We arrived here on Wednesday 5th after a sleepless night in Singapore. The worst part was when I went to the toilet at around 2am; minding my own business reading the sign on door...(I was not poohing just to point out!)...when the most spontaneous, out of the blue, shockingly terrifyingly, right over head clash of thunder enveloped the hostel!! Needless to say I disregarded the eco friendly policy of turning off the light when leaving the toilets, to run back to the bedroom! Anyway, going off task there...at Singapore airport we waited for our flight ... read more
