We did buy some leather goods Hey Michelle,
Outside of the Uffizi, by Ponte Vecchio we did buy a leather wallet for Buff and a leather (wraparound) belt for me. Very good deals. Most of the other shopping we did was for souvenir type things for family and friends, and for us!!!!!
I fly to IN tomorrow, see you soon in the Windy City.

Great Stories and Pictures Really enjoyed reading all about your trip. I really felt like I was traveling with the two of you. It definitely brought back great memories of when Marti and I went to Italy...it really is an amazing place with very friendly sweet people. The only thing you didn't mention was shopping for leather goods at the outdoor market in Florence....of course shopping is always at the top of my to do list! Thanks again for sharing and I'm looking forward to hearing more about the trip in person soon.
so fun! gaile and buff - i am loving reading about your travels overseas. beautiful photos! it looks and sounds like such a great trip! love to both of you. v.
query on the Breakfast at Dover BB I am the 'Delightful' MR CUPPER.
Just to set the record straight, we never serve can porked sausages or baked beans, totally taboo.
All ingredients are purchased from 'Marks and Spencers' the sausages are Marks and spencers own. Just to say I remember the 'Pattons', and they are very nice people
Pronouncing Llangollen Gaile,
I always wondered why my mother pronounced the name something like "lan-goth-in". Now I know, that's how she heard it at home!

great scott! hey gaile and buff - i love this travel blog. you guys find adventure wherever you go or should i say it finds you? gaile i love pisarro too! one of my favorite impressionists - some of his work is at chicago museum of art. i dont blame buff for being less than friendly to the hooligans...who knows what they were up to? together you make a great team!
I'm envious Buff/Gaile: Enjoyed the travel blogs - they bring back some
memories of a long ago trip. Glad you shared some experiences
with your friends !
Buff & I are on our postponed 25th wedding anniversary present to ourselves, three week trip to Great Britain with a quick two night side adventure through the Chunnel to Paris. After months of Buff traveling for business(every 2 weeks out of 3 he was in China or India) during which time we poured over the Lonely Planet Great Britain book and dreamed of the places we would see and planned an itinerary (somewhat, we wanted flexibility to do whatever we wanted, but some genealogy "work" too, we left California on Sept. 10, 2005.... full info
