I am now a fan. Brian, I have read your travel blog up to the story of Nigel Fox. It's hard to put this story aside for long. It reads like an award winning novel and I have to keep reminding myself that this is real, this is your and your wife's life. ...I am fascinated. I will read till the end and then I'll have to know "what happens next". Your writing capabilities are excellent, inspiring and truly captivating. Is a book in the offing? - it should be. I am now a fan.
Entry 47--Boat Harbour & Cook's Harbour Good to hear from you both. I visited Newfoundland at the invitation of a priest frien, Ken Abbott in December 2009. I did meet Bps Percy Coffin and Bishop david Torreville.
Bishop Fred was leaving on a visit overseas, so I did not meet him.
Sadly this did not result in my being offered a parish there.I am now 61 and it would seem that working overseas is no longer an option for me , given the many hurdles one has to surmount with Immigration authorities, but am considering a parish offer from kimberley and Kuruman to serve as a priest their.(I was ordained here in the Philippines in May2010.
I am still in the Philippines teaching at Brent School in Subic. I trust that your travels are rewarding , interesting and refreshing.
keep in touch.

Boat Harbour
Well it was a great surprise when I did a search today on the internet for Cook's Harbour and came across your journals. It seems like a lifetime ago since you were in Cook's Harbour. I have often wondered what had happened to you. The two of you were awesome when it came to getting young people involved in the church. No other reverends showed such interest. I have such fond memories of our meetings for the youth fellowship at your house. I am at work right now and have had only enough time to scan a couple of the journals. I have to admit that my interest and curiosity have been heightened about Nigel Fox. I would appreciate any information that you can give me. I look forward to hearing from you! Regards, Charmaine Elliott (Ress and Sharon’s daughter if it helps you to remember)

Yes it "jumps" as we are editing it. Our problem is one of keeping confidentiality. We have changed the names of the "main persons", and used some literary license. . . but is that enough? We have even considered deleting it from our blog, yet people tend to enjoy it . . . Thanks for your comment.
My grandfather Archdeacon Ziqu is my grandfather and i've never really known his story. he died when i was still very young, i mean i was only born in 1991. i was born after the death of my aunt, his daughter. this has just opened up my eyes to a whole family history i was never really told about. thank you

Freemasons churchill and other Freemasons believed they were fighting a holy war against hitler. This was the reason d'etre for freemasonry and the british empire
Not Manic I don't think Rev. Fox was manic. Not only was Christian prophecy fulfilled but so were Jewish and Muslum prophecies. How could it be random chance that Hitler, WW II, the Holocaust, etc all would happen at he time of the restoration of Israel. - A.N.M.

Stories of the Bell Tower I have heard the stories of the Bell Tower when visiting Lahore. The strangest what is said to have stopped the Tower clock. - A.N.M.
Please let us know! Please let us know if you think our posting of Nigel's travel journal was a good idea. It provides great insight into the of India, South Africa etc of Circa 1920 to Circa 1940. We have changed his name, removed some "private" material, etc. etc. It should also be noted that his wife had no problems withus making his story known.

We'd love to hear from you. Hi Bryan It's been years since we last were together in Butterworth,Transkei. We've been in Perth Western Australia since 1997. I think you may remember Reece and Candice- you baptised them. Reece is now 23yrs old and Candice turned 18 last week. We also have Tremaine (11) and Alyssa almost 2yrs old. We'd love to hear from you. Candice always asks "who's that" because she was too young to remember.
Enoch was nothing more than a strange dream. It was my belief then, and is now, that that Enoch was nothing more than a strange dream. A dream inspired by the stories of the Bell Tower, and by old photos of Enoch that I had seen at St.Hilda's Guest House a few days earlier. It was simply my imagination. Thankfully Enoch never reappeared. Yet it was a very very odd dream!
The other possibility was that I was having some sort of manic episode brought on by the many stories about the Bell Tower. I hope that was not the case. In any event, nothing strange like that has ever happened since.
The Travel Blog of Bryan and Miranda
Before meeting Miranda, I was a litigation lawyer who had always loved to travel. As a child, my parents included me on their many trips. It was my idea to see the 1965 New York World's Fair, and in 1968 to travel across North America from Montreal to Seattle. In 1980 I spent a summer exploring America with a Greyhound "Thank You Canada" pass. Americans were grateful to Canada for rescuing hostages being held captive by Iran. (I don't think I paid for a drink on my entire trip and yes, I still feel Americans are the kindest, most generous peopl... full info
