exciting! wow! I am going to follow and look up stuff to ask you about on your return. unless we get a chance to visit, better watch out those open invitations. and carmen outside, it is all wonderful and I look forward to hearing more.
Thanks for sharing, Lisa
Bravo/a! How quickly you've worked! I'm amazed at your wonderful apartment, the friends you're making already, and the jump into language learning. You should feel very proud of yourselves. I've been thinking of you a lot, given how much Turkey has been in the news recently, what with the Gaza blockade debacle, the Kurdish troubles, and the rapprochement with Iran. Are you able to discuss these sorts of things yet with the Turks you know? At any rate, the pictures show a lovely environment; thanks so much for sharing them. I'm starting two weeks of vacation today, and just picked Dan up at the airport. All the best, Judi
Inspirational Bill and Carol-
I am happy to hear that you have arrived safely and are settling in. The food looks and sounds amazing...... everything does for that matter! You sound completely immersed!
Love,
Theresa
You looked seasoned already! In spite of my green/sustainability nature, I want to come visit--it looks awesome. Now to just find the funds. . .
Your first venture into the art of blogging is absolutely wonderful. Thanks for bringing us along for the adventure. Also, it is quite impressive that you are so well settled in after such a short period of time despite losing a bag and the ATM scam.
Fantastic! I so enjoyed your first blog with all the stories and the pictures. What a gorgeous place you chose to settle. And having nice live-in landladies is a real bonus. A grand adventure - I look forward to more news and pictures.
envious! We loved our 2 visits to Turkey, particularly Istanbul (do you remember that song:" Istanbul was Constantinople" ? I taught it to our grandchildren when we were there and we all shouted "It's nobody's business but the Turks!") We will follow your adventures with enthusiasm.
Response to Ann Thanks so much for your comment. It is great to know that someone is sharing our experience electronically. Your words of encouragement have been great to read. Why not come back and see Antalya? We have a spare bedroom.
Bon Voyage, Jessie We hope your trip to Guatemala goes well as it always seems to. thanks for your comment on our first blog. Your cousin (in-law)has been great to us and she is a true friend. Thanks so much for the introduction.
With our best wishes,
Bill and Carol
Yavash, Yavash, Indeed! I am so envious of your grand adventure. Max and I enjoyed just a brief taste of Turkey in February this year...when the weather was delightfully coolish! Our trip chasing down Anatolian antiquities did not extend as far south as Antalya. However, although we experienced much too little of "ordinary" Turkish life, we really enjoyed walking about and eating in several of the smaller western coastal towns. We look forward to reading about your Senior Trip and wish you well!
Ann
Love it! Wow! A 3,000 square foot apartment! You are living in the lap of luxury with your great space and the gorgeous water and mountains so near!
I'm packing today for Guatemala. I leave Saturday. I look forward to a new blog when I get back, July 7.
Jessie
Congratulations! I'm so glad to hear about your trip and your apartment. I want to visit! Not sure how or when, but I'm going to try to do it!!! I may be retired before you come back!
Big hug!!!
Catherine
Carol and I have moved to Antalya, Turkey where we will be living for two years. We wanted to live in another culture, learn Turkish, possibly teach some English and enjoy a beautiful place and friendly and welcoming people. We would like to experience Turkey as people who live here rather than as tourists, passing through.... full info
