Nice One Hi Jonny
Nice work and well done - try Ripping Yarns publisher - I've emailed them myself on your behalf.
You've inspired me - however I have a 6 week old baby, so not going to try this for a few years - when I'll in my 50s - it'll probably take me a bit longer than you though...
Well done - what are brilliant adventure!
Fantastic! You made it! It's just staggering, congratulations! I am soooo impressed. Take the job and write the book in your spare time. It will be great.
Andrew
A mighty effort Well done. I did not appreciate how the time element would end up being so punishing. Please write the book, it would be a shame not to. Dan
Thurso's well good Don't be grumpy, go and get yourself a greasy burger at Sandra's and then enjoy a visit to the nearby Dounraeu nuclear powerstation.
jonny and bon jovi the highest mountain in Europe is Mount Elbrus in Southern Russia now not Mount Blanc. I reckon we should crack over and give it a go next spring as a warm up for keighley to katmandu. See you in scotland later this week!
p.s. dan says you look like you should be in bon jovi
Travel quote. Hhhmmm another quote!
Try this:-
I think that travel comes from some deep urge to see the world, like the urge that brings up a worm in an Irish bog to see the moon when it is full. ~Lord Dunsany
Relevant I think!!
Well done kid - keep up the good work Jonny,
What a legend mate - you always were a crazy focused beast, tell you what you need - a cheeky night out in Preston at Tooookyo Joooos to perk you up a bit. Little disappointed you haven't included the Isle of Man on your list. I would, of course, have secured the Examiner front page. Team Paris might join you for the final leg in early August, I`m rounding up the troops.
Get yourself a shave!!!!! Great pics. Love the horses and the road sign...........................
John Muir Quote“Trees go wandering forth in all directions with every wind, going and coming like ourselves, traveling with us around the sun two million miles a day, and through space heaven knows how fast and far! ” - John Muir
Another travel quote!!!! “Restore human legs as a means of travel. Pedestrians rely on food for fuel and need no special parking facilities. ” - Lewis Mumford
You're a flaming lunatic Muir. Bet you were wishing you were back here writing stories about John Morris having to get a job in a pretrol station (yes it's true). Next time, EAT MORE HOBNOBS!
Another quotation!! This one is from T S Eliot and I found it in Country Walking magazine:-
"Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go".
My hat is off. Jonny you have astounded me and I have loved reading your blog. What you're doing is amazing and I want more people to know about it, as I reckon it puts you in the top 0.000001% of people in the world with enough determination and grit to take this on.
Keep on keeping on. See you for a pint soon.
Matt
He's just a 'light weight'!! He who would travel happily must travel light.
Antoine de Saint-Exupery (1900 - 1944)
Jonny is carrying next to nothing on this journey. Virtually eveything is in a small rucksac on his back. On the carrier on his bike is a pair of lightweight fabric boots. If it rains everything he's got gets wet!
Now the quotation, I'm not that clever enough to know it myself but found it in a book Jonny gave me for xmas : Walking the West Highland Way. Methinks I am being 'set up' for something not least a quick detour up Ben Nevis and Buachille Etive Mor in Glencoe..........................
Sunday................. We saw Jonny on Sunday, when we tackled Plynlimon Fawr with him. He of course striding off ahead leaving his struggling parents and a hot dog (the brown furry sort!) in his dust. Great weather and we did get to drive home through Cwmystwyth and round the Elan Valley reservoirs on a perfect evening. Jon had to cycle to Tregaron, not quite sure whether he could get a place at the YHA. Text later said he had sorted himself out and would explain later......... ( I reckon he rode the couple of extra miles to Llandewi Brefi and stayed with the 'Only Gay in the Village')
This is quite an undertaking! You've been very unlucky with the weather so far, hope it clears up as you head for the Welsh mountains.
Keep it up.
