I have been in the big apple for just over a year and I am getting ready to leave. Now I can say I like it here, actually this city is amazing! But when I first arrived my feelings about it were...let say...a lot less positive. Actually, I hated it! First the weather: it was insanely hot and humid, arriving from cold Scotland I thought I would die. Second, the dirtiness: mountains of rubbish on the sidewalk (and the smell that comes with them), the rats running around in subway stations and the cockroaches...bbrrrrr. Third the people: they are just crazy busy and will walk into you if you don't move out of their way.
