No submarine races! Hola Linda--
Great stuff. Keep it up, even if you have to use ship-to-shore semaphore.
Those gents look good, but be careful if they invite you on deck to watch the
submarine races.
Although maybe there really are submarine races where you are.
:)
High seas Man in pub, turns to drinking buddy and says: "I used to work for Cunard."
Drinking buddy replies: "I'm with Citibank, and they make us work pretty hard too."
Beautiful Linda!
Thanks for a great time last night, have a safe trip home. The sun decided to shine so you could enjoy your second trip to the blue lagoon even more ;)
I love how you enjoy life and see the humor in all things around you - promise me to never stop.
Take care and have a safe trip home.
Maggie.
Note to self: Get to know the reindeer we saw last night.

Fressen Dear Lindaleh:
Iceland has been a sort of pet of mine for years. A tiny population of first cousins and their progeny could have gone all Ozark, but instead they nailed geo-thermal energy, education, an economy and good blonde sex until a few serious bandits bought Iceland's banks and turned them into so much toilet paper on the international markets. It should happen to Hitler.
Meanwhile, although this is probably redundant, look for the pickled herring which are bursting with fish fat. (If they were't, the buggers would freeze to death up there.) Also, seek out fresh scampi sold in paper cones on the docks. Finally, look for a place that rents Toyota trucks with V-8 engines and huge monster truck tires. The locals love to run these unstoppable bad boys up and down large dirt hills.
Finally, you must try hakarl, the meat and fat of a shark that's been buried in beach sand for half a year. It's like eating crunchy ammonia, but you'll dine out on it for the rest of your life.
Love and knishes,
Irvin
I accidentally stumbled upon your NY post, but I loved it because I'm from NY and it made me feel back at home for a moment! If you have the time, check out my community travel blog at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com. We're always looking for photos, reviews (like of Harry's Italian Restaurant! ;) , etc. Enjoy the rest of your time there, and good luck with the press junket... I worked in entertainment for many years and know how those things can be!
Heather ;)
Breathtaking If you're not already huffing and puffing from the climb to the top, these views will take your breath away. I lift a pint to your accomplishments, and wish you great joy with the potatoes.
Guinness rules! Sounds like you're off to a grand start sis...have a blast, oh yeah and at least a couple pints with whiskey chasers for me!
love Noonbird
B'gosh! and also, of course, begorrah!
Thank you so much for taking a moment and blogging from 'neath the chinoiserie of Dublin. I love these tech times. And the snaps make it that much more vivid.
Breathlessly awaiting the next entry.
Oh, and yes, I am GREEN with envy.

Don't miss the uiscebagh Ireland seems tailor-made for you with its physical beauty, lyrical and literary culture and a penchant for creative excess.
Try to get to at least one good distillery while you're there for a leck un' a schmeck. (The Middleton is in Dublin, and my name's in a book for buying one of their delicious bottlings.)
Bon Voyage. Wash the fruit, don't use ice cubes, and don't kiss a Mexican pig.
A century ago (give or take, I'm part Irish, given to exaggeration and romanticism) my paternal grandfather left Ireland. I'm heading to the land of my Brady forefathers - and Synge, O'Casey, green hills and fine whiskey - for the first time, on a holiday that combines Dublin and an 8-day hiking tour of Galway, Connemara and the Aran Islands. You should come with me. ... full info

Nice work if you can get it
I love the beautiful places you're visiting and the purty words you use to write about them.
