The empires in Italy included the Romans, Germans, Lombards, Byzantines,and Nomads. Nationalism in Italy began with Garibaldi giving up Naples and Sicily to the French. Rome and Venetia became independent states after the Austro-Prussian war and the French-Prussian, which made the French leave from Rome. Revolutions and revolts that took place in Italy included Palermo wanting a constitution, Ferdinando II making a constitution, and many other things that caused revolutions.Right now the Italians have a Constitutional republic, Parliamentary republic, and Unitary republic.
