FANTASTIC! Hi- I loved your blog. I only found it last night and I'm so glad I have read it. My family have done a couple of trips to the Red Centre and loved it. I am just now planning our Kimberley trip which is what I was doing when I came accross your blog. You are an inspiration to all. Well done!!
Well, Trudy seems like you are still having an amazing time. Just wondering where you are now as you must be homeward bound. What a great opportunity and experience it has been for you and the kids to do this trip. Way to go!!
Wonderfull Dear Trudy and family. You have just completed the trip of a life time. You will find it hard to settle back into the mundane life style that comes with work and study. Good luck trying.
Merry Christmas to all Love Sharon
envious welcome back. I am envious of your experience (though not the theft of your handbag - sorry) and during / after the rains. And to be at those couple of places during the storms - great for your pics. Would love to sit and talk with you all one time soon. Again, welcome home
Hey there lovely Tammy! We miss you guys terribly! Will certainly have to set up skype at home. If all goes according to plan we should be home in a few weeks or so. Love and Hugs to you all XOXO.
Love the photos .great to see you had a good time in bali. Matilda is still asking when she will see Shay. God bless and safe travels. Call us when you have reached home and we will set up skype between the girls. Miss you all.
Bali??? What a great life changing experience this trip has been for you all. I am very pleased to hear all about your Travells. Hope the rest of the trip is safe and fun too.
We had a quick trip to South Australia last week for the funeral of Des's sisters husband who was killed in a head on collision near Strathalbyn by a woman paying more attention to her mobile than her driving, she too died leaving a 7 yr old boy and husband. Tragic is all I can say. Love Sharon and Des
May be a little longer! Yes Elle, I have a nice big 'bullet hole' scar left. Two months later I was able to swim and shower properly!
Wasnt sure whether to write about it in the blog - but I think the bad has to be said along with the good!
Looking forward to seeing everyone soonish, although I might be a bit longer than expected - my handbag with wallet, camera, new iphone and soooo many other bits and pieces was stolen last night so have to hang around for weeks to get new cards etc!!! What a pain!!!
big hole in butt? Tell me that your gaping hole is now healing well and no longer needs daily packing ... please tell me that!! That sounds like the kind of thing that would happen to me if I ventured up north. Scary stuff. Can't wait to see you in less than 4 weeks time (Lily is excited too!!!). Love from Elle, Simon, Coen and Edie xoxo
Great Story! Hello again everyone.
Wow! I can't believe how far you've gone. Sounds like a great time with all those people.
Good luck with your "HOLE" Trudy and hope you enjoy Bali.
Ian.

Pity about Shay with the croc - who is having her rubber shoes! and Kalahini- better than school - just a weeny bit? Glad that you will be here for Camporee. Great adventure with Great photos Trudy.
I am greenwith envy Hi, What a fantastic time you are all having makes me so jealious. as I read your report I can just see what you have been doing as many of the places are where we stayed and enjoyed too in Broome and 80 mile beach. I did not catch the big fish there either It is a fable but I did enjoy shell collecting. We had the camel ride at Cable Beach I thought it was great fun even romantic at sunset.. I am back on my feet again after my knee opp and recovering really well. We have been accepted for camp in Oct. I agree the best part of the travel is the many lovely people you meet along the way and keep bumping into as you go. We are still in touch with two families we met many times
Keep smiling and travel safe Love Sharon and Des.

Back Home Great to catch up on your trip news. Most of those places we visited on our trip around 5 years ago so as I read your letter I got a colour vision of just where you were and the things you saw. We arrived back from NZ late last night after a month there minding the grand children. We had a fabulous time with them and enjoyed the trips we were able to do, even to the snow. It was rather cooler than where you are -3 early mornings and only up to 8 most days. I think it made it to 13 one afternoon. We got our acceptance for camp this week but because Shona and Kids missed out we are going to let them take our spot. We may get to have a sabbath there.
Keep on enjoying this beautiful country , God Bless with health and safe travel Love Sharon and Des
Great to hear from you. Hi Trudi, Dakota, Shaylee and Khalani
Sounds like you are having a great time. Thanks for the update. Fantastic fishing Dakota, did you guys eat it?
My big achievement today, I ran the half Marathon on the Gold Coast and am feeling very tired at the moment.
You guys will be in the Northern Territory soon.
Keep having fun

For as long as I can remember, the idea of traveling around Australia in a caravan has appealed to me. I think the inspiration must stem from meeting a family in Port Macquarie as a young teen, who just lived and traveled in their caravan I was enthralled. How does it work, how do they school, where do they stay I wondered. Apparently they just fished their way from place to place. It must have been a great big prolonged adventure! Incidentally that family eventually settled in my home town and we are still very good friends.
The notion of traveling this great land of ours has not left ... full info
