hello from the frozen north Hey Kate
Enjoy the heat and sunshine, last night we had about 12/14cm of snow on top of hard packed ice, then it rained just to wet the snow and now it's freezing again so driving tomorrow should be fun!
Lydia is still wearing the fairy dress, and she is going wear it to be an angel in the school nativity so I had to make angel wings for it.
Glad you are having fun, keep using the sunscreen. Love A. x.
It's alright for some! Well some of us are freezing in the snow whilst you are enjoying the warmth of the nice climates. really glad to hear that you are enjoying yourself and can't wait till your back so that we can have a catch up and that horror movie night! hope upi enjoy the rest of your trip and i guess we will catch up when christmas is all over and done with. have a great few months!!!!! xxxxx Alice xxxxx
Momos are Yum Yum Kate, Yes indeed we have tackled Tibetan momos in Yigatse. As I recall they were floating in a clear noodley-veg broth, we had an egg, yak and spinach concotion with it....all very tasty. The French family (M and D three kids from 4-about 10, plus Gran and Grandad) sitting at the table next to us ploughed through pizza, chips and Coca Cola...who says travel does not broaden the mind!
What hips?
Love K and J
Hello from Kate2 Of course, comments about snipers and men with guns are surely only going to reaasure us of your safety. the closest thing Keswick has to a pyschopath and you pretty much argue with him all the time. LOL.
Hope you're having fun.
Kate xx
Your adventures brightened up my sunday afternoon! Your big cousin here, Ann gave me the web address so I thought I'd see how you're getting along. Sounds like you've certainly had plenty of memorable experiences. Reading this was a nice distraction from my MA dissertation, on this wet Sunday afternoon, so thanks for that. Good luck with the rest of your journey. Take Care Verity x
Don't worry Don't worry. i think that everyone reading this will make sure that your mum gets the message. Was thinking about you the other day whilst watching the news (as you do). can't wait to see you when you get back.....must have that horror night that we were going to plan.....hope you are having a fantastic time and can't wait to hear about it all when you get back.....no doubt a gripping novel will follow from your experiences. alice

Glad to hear from you Sounds like real adventures going on there. While all we have is 6ft hail drifts in Devon and the mountain marathon washed out near Keswick - couple of thousand people in the slate mine at honister for shelter. Not joking!
Looking forward to hearing about the crocodiles.
Love and hugs. x. P.S. Don't forget your mum's birthday!
Delighted to hear from you Mum said yesterday that she had received 3 pcs at once, we all keep wondering about you so great to hear. My party was fun, Tim stayed awake and Eleanors cake was tasty, 60 daisies instead of candles!!All of them, including Ashia are coming on Sunday for supper. It is VERY cold here, with snow on the fells John and I walked up Wild Boar Fell yesterday and survived the wind..bet its hot and sticky with you...
keep sending the messages and avoiding the crocs! Lots of Love K and JXXX
Hello there The new dress sounds lovely! Not sure how white it'll be after eight days wear - the red and black should be fine though! Sounds like you enjoyed Istanbul, i really liked the skylines and going on the ferries. It's a fantastic city.
We're on our second sunny day in a row today. Otherwise it's been rainy since Bruges. Ironically the good weather started at Dracula's castle yesterday.
Mum is going to try type :D HAHHA! I KNOW! Hi , Its good to know you have worked out how to use the thermorest after just a week. Dont forget you have to get inside your sleepingbag! good blog so far!
Hello from home Sounds like you're having a real adventure. Enjoying reading your blog. Closing the thermarest stopper does help! By the way it hasn't rained here for 3 days now!!
Take care, big hug, X.
Good to hear from you See how trivial you think art is when it's *your* skull decorating a chandelier ;)
*leaves smiling disconcertingly, so Marc can wonder about his friends morbidity and whether she has his address*
Mad Monks? Or just Christians? Interesting Fact: At some point a saint is supposed to have taken some earth from the hill on which Jesus was crusified and scattered some on the graveyard of that church. Being "really holy ground", (very technical term), everyone wanted to be buried there. Eventually they ran out of room (apparently the graves are up to 6 layers deep in some places, even now) and they dug aload of people up and hung their bones on the walls. Hey I suppose it beats just throwing them away...
P.s. Art is never a serious subject.
P.p.s. You are morbid.
P.p.p.s. Have fun.

I come from the North of England, right near the border, and on the 14th of September I'm setting off for New Zealand, almost entirely overland. I may quite possibly have lost it a little but I'm sure my friends and family will vouch that there is much more damning evidence than this journey. I like reading, writing, drawing and other pursuits where you get to make up your own rules (I avoid team sports for pretty much the same reason). ... full info
