On the night of the 16th we took ourselves to the camp ground bar and bistro "the Thirst Dingo" to enjoy some Ozzie entertainment from "the Roadies" a comedy act, with our friends " the uggs" ... their number plate - a fun night which saw Mike up on stage singing "give me a home among the gum trees" complete with actions! And Abbie and Rory totally taking the stage with gr8 dance moves. Great night had by all. Kings Canyon for the following 2 days was also fabulous - it was a total suprise to find such dramatic rockform. We ... read more

Thoroughly enjoyed the amazing sights around Uluru, keep having to pinch ourselves that we are here! Today we drove to the Olgers another impressive rock formation a few kms. from Ayers Rock ... and walked through one of the massive gorges. We learned a lot about the dreamtime stories around both Uluru and the Olgers yesterday where certain rocks depict a story ... many of them a bit spooky! which added to the drama of the walks. Ella and Abbie are having a complete ball and thoroughly enjoying sharing their adventures with their new friends who are continuing to travel this way. Back at camp we saw a display by male Aboriginal dancers and some didgeridoo playing before heading out to a local camel farm to watch the set setting over Ayers Rock ... on the ... read more

We have now arrived in Uluru and have mobile-reception again. Over the last few days we have travelled from Coober Pedy to William Creek, flew over lake ayer then up the oodnadatta track. We camped near an old ghan Railway bridge one night then went up the Delhaise springs for 2 nights. This place must be seen to be beleaved. We never expected to find hot springs the size of an Olympic pool in the desert, needless to say we were reluctant to hit the dirt to drive out. Still having loads of fun. Will blog again from the rock. Mike, Tiff,Ella & Abbie... read more
