The weather predictions were correct: the rains so nice to read up on your doings Andrew, i will be moving there soon. Type A's are the most challenged there I bet. Just happen to be one myself. Thanks for the good writing and sharing.
cheers from California.
Oh dear! A blog with no pictures... . . . but really great insights. Drew, this blog is one that should be read by many a ExPat wannabe! Can't wait to read your 'Anniversary Edition'.
Good for you, Paul M. ==
Great entry Andrew,
I don't always have time to read your blogs, however, I'm really happy that I took the time to read your entry today. You are to be congratulated for making the changes you made in moving to CR. It's clear that you are the right kind of person who can make a drastic chanage and benefit from it. I enjoy your comments and insight and especially your sense of humor!
It's my pleasure to know you and work with you to promote Angel Valley Enterprises.
Take care,
Nance
Rainy Season Glad we beat the rainy season. April was glorious. It made me smile to see the photos and remember what a great time we had. Beth deserves credit for taking the picture of the cows from the back seat of your SUV.
Umbrellas & your tan... Another interesting blog entry, Drew. Useful info about the changing prices on street meschandise based upon the circumstances: umbrellas/rain. Liked your observations on the preparations for Arias' inauguration. You will probably be glad you aren't in the area on the day of. And lastly, how 'bout before and after pix of your tan? Cheers! Still laughing after all these years . . . OMG Andrew, I don't know which is funnier -- the original circumstances of our trying to find a place to dormir and my missing my husband's birthday not once but twice, or your account of the whole ordeal. I have a gut feeling that life in Puravidaville is going to have a major comedic component. . . and I can't wait. But you forgot to mention that Ernesto and I were both in our pajamas when we left Karol's house, and I had taken out my contacts, so I couldn't see a damn thing! Good thing we didn't get stopped by the policia, but ahhhh, my contractor is on the police force so I guess we would've been okay. Thanks for the laughs all over again. Ciao.
Hola Eric, Patrick & Haley! Thanks for all your comments! Yes, Eric, I'm learning revenue management and my system is so sophisticated! :-) I'd love to chat with you about Asia Patrick as I've spent considerable time there! Haley, email me directly about working here, etc.

adventures and more sorry you will be full when we are in CR in June, but we may drop by on our way to the volcano and pet Gringo and Amigo and compare some of our adventures in Asia with those in CR
Wow!!! I am about to graduate from College and I am trying to make it possible to start my life in Costa Rica. I have a couple of connections, but I am trying to make more. I have to figure out the job situation and I am not really sure how to go about doing it. I know it is hard to get a working Visa and I hear you have to start your own buisness if you are from the States. Any Advice???
Thanks Again Andrew - we're still raving about our trip, what great hosts you and Beth are, and what a wonderful place Costa Rica is. Thank you, thank you. We had very heavy rain here last weekend and I thought of you. At least you don't have to worry about a flooded basement.
Hi! Andrew - the article in Travel and Leisure was a great plug for your place - congratulations! I hope you and Beth are well - I think of you often...especially on 495 in the middle of a god awful traffic jam....I think of you often and I cheer you on....xoxoxo
Los Napoles Saludos Andrew! I just sent you an email introducing myself....did one of your ex-pat neighbors turn you on to that five-stool Los Napoles Mexican hole-in-the-wall. I don't remember the neighbor's name but I DO REEMEBER the restaurant. He took me there too! Thanks for the memories! I'm enjoying your blog immensely...God bless.
Carribean side Hi Andrew,
I understand that there are two routes to the Carribean side. The old one goes through Cartago ,then Turrialba and the newer one (faster way?) runs thru Guapiles. Sounds like you took the old route. Do you think you might like to live on the Carribean side? I know where you are now is very beautiful and has cool weather. How does the beach at Uvita compare to Tamarindo area beaches and the nearest beaches to you (Playa Dona Ana or Caldera?)? Visitaste usted las playas de la peninsula nicoya todavia?
Hi there! Sounds like fun! Hey-- Donna and Lauren are coming? I'm jealous! Can't wait to come visit, too! Great blog-- Thanks Andrew. Learn more from you than from Beth!!!!!
Frind of Beth's sister My name is Paul and I have been reading all about you guys...sounds great I'm ready to come down for a visit with lynn beth's sister... Im getting tired of my life hear and if I sell my house I could maybe retire...or find some sort of home based business...see you soon...
I was there I went to CR on Dec 4th for business trainng. I returned on March 11th but my heart is still there. I fell in love with the country, and with a certain 'tican chica'. I have been scanning your blog and each entry makes me want to be there. It is strange how you can feel 'homesick' for a place you only visited for 3 months. I was there the morning of the 28th, sitting in a lab when everything started to move. My first earthquake as well. I was returning from the beach and drove by the carnival in Palmares. One day I will return to Costa Rica and my future wife Iria. I will try to look you up when I do. Thanks for providing such a descriptive account of your adventures. The quality of a man's life is not his posessions, but how well he lives with what he has.
Re: Jim's Place Hola Dylan! Thanks for your comment. Jim's place is located in Berlin, which also has ocean views. Jose's place is in Rio Jesus which is off the Interamerican highway going towards Puntarenas. I think it is out 20 minutes outside of San Ramon.
-Andrew
Jim's Place Hi Andrew,
Looks like you are having some fun. Is Jim's place located on Jose's new development? I have seen pictures of it (Jose's new land) on the net, but not in person. I know it has some big ocean views. It is also warmer there. I have been to Angel Valley Farm and I think it is beautiful. Though I found it to be suitable before, it appears that you have made some nice improvements. Since you mentioned your friend Jim's place has those views, I was just curious.
Thanks, I am enjoying your site. Dylan
Property taxes Hi: I enjoy reading your article. In reference to your property tax bill don't despair. Up here in Boston our property taxes are hitting the roof

Thai Food in CR Paul:
Have you been to Tin Jo in San Jose? It's the best Asian restaurant in the country by far. They have Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Japanese, and more. Check it out. All I can is: incredible!
