The European Cars Hi Andrea and Romas,
you have got an very interessting blog. It is like seeing my homecountry through different eyes. You are very good observer and it helps to find out more about myself and my obsessions(The Supermarket thing makes me laugh out loud ect.).
Even if you are right in most cases, you are wrong in this one. European Cars do not burn as much fuel as americans do, so we can travel faster and burn much less fuel and CO2 emmission. Speed for inviroment ;-)
Very True! My chiropractor says all three of his kids love oatmeal...and with brown sugar on it (apparently something else it's hard to find in Germany). Luckily, his dad is American and works at one of the bases here so he can keep the kids well supplied. But he says given the choice between oatmeal with brown sugar and ANY other type of food...they choose the oatmeal!! Tell this to the kids back in the States and they'll be horrified lol
WOW! I absolutely love love love your blog! The pictures are amazing and the commentary (about the history) was enlightening. I can't wait to read more about your adventures!
Many German dialects My father, from a small German speaking village in Hungary, grew up speaking a Swabian dialect. My mother, from Sudetenland which was part of Czechoslovakia when she was born, spoke a more modern dialect.
After being together for more than 30 years, and living in the US now, they'd occasionally have to use English to translate German in to German.
Schweinfurt Hi Heidi! We're here because Romas is stationed here with the Army. It's great!!! We are loving every second!! I'm posting new blogs to catch up now that we have internet again! :)
Andrea :)
hello Hi Andrea and Romas. I am just curious as to why you moved to Schweinfurt. I have family in the area and was just there in September. I tried to backtrack your blog to find out the reason, but couldn't find it. I am enthralled with your blog. It brings back so many great memories of all my trips back to the homeland. Keep them coming !!
Jeep on the Autobahn! Ha Ha!!! I've been waiting to hear about your first trip on the autobahn. Your rotary experience sounds like when Lewis and I were driving around Portugal, we must have gone around the same rotary 6 times, I felt like Chevy Chase in National Lampoons European vacation!
Keep the updates coming, I love them. Miss you guys!!!
A Matter of Opinion Your "disappointment" in finding nothing but bathrooms is my "jackpot" these days - the kid is totally parked on my bladder!
I love the photos... I can already tell you're having a blast over there!
Glad you're here! You're picture at the airport looks eerily like ours lol. I'm so glad you guys made it and without any major problems. What are you doing for Thanksgiving? If you don't have any plans and you're able to make it out here you're welcome to spend it with us!!
The Adventures Begin! I'm so excited to see more photos and get all the updates. And, I have to say, the screaming kids video has me absolutely laughing out loud. (Talk about a "rude awakening"...) Hope I'm still laughing in April!
Romas and I have been living in Germany for three years and now we've been extended!! We are here at least another year or two! We love to travel and explore. We've seen a lot already and can't wait to see more!! With a baby on the way, we may be slowing down (temporarily, at least!)
We're a little behind in updating our blog. We promise to catch up and keep you posted on all of our travels! I've published a number of blogs without an official blog entry. I don't want to be so backlogged on publishing! Hopefully, I can get my act together this summer (after we move and u... full info
