Alta Gracia, - worker's rights in the Dominican Republic

This blog will document my trip to an ethically-managed factory called Alta Gracia in the Dominican Republic.
As part of my Masters dissertation research I will be spending a few weeks at Villa Altagracia, a town where a unique factory located within a 'free trade zone' guarantees its workers a decent wage and fair working conditions.
The resulting impact on the workers' lives has been a huge improvement in quality of life for their families.
These are brave and determined men and women who have fought for years to bring the Alta Gracia factory into being and I hope that my blog will contribute, if only a tiny bit,, in assisting them.
