Trekking with or without Guide..!! Hello All,
We often see people asking for trekking on their own or without guide. I have been to Munnar more than twice now. I like trekking too. The trekking trails in Munnar let it be Chokramudi or Meesapuli mala or Top ststion or Lakshmi hills.. I don’t recommend or suggest trekking on own. These places need guides. The walking up usually is doable but while trekking down the trails may go crazy and difficult. There could be hollow pits, valley, a hole or anything that could land you into a serious danger or situation and some may lead you to dense forest where you may come face to face to tuskers. So, I suggest hiring a guide; don’t go for costs, though you can bargain some. It’s safe life ultimately what we want than landing ourselves into danger denying any guide. The guides in Munnar are well knowledgeable and especially experienced ones. They know the trails and path very much clearly so let you to have a safe trek. They are also well connected with each other, so in case of any sighting of a tusker may be informed immediately.
So, it is good that you always opt for guide based treks which is safe.

Details Hello Aarav,
The travel agency I booked with was Aaditya Travels based in Kochi and Coimbatore (from wher they arranged our vehicle) (no. 09944003594). The driver they provided could speak good english and hindi (really a good hindi). Even the staff from the agency could speak good hindi and english which really amazed us (no south India speaks perfect hindi). The knowledge that driver and guide had was really commendable. They both were patient in clearing our doubts. We liked their service so much. I recommend them.
