I'm a rising senior at Columbia College. I love to travel and this summer I will be spending a month in Angers, France study the complex form of communication that is the French language. However, I will be using this website as a way to blog in a non-conventional way. Instead of typing out all my thoughts and feeling about my experiences in France, I will be blogging through photos. Each of my thirty plus days in France I will take at least ten photos, maybe more if I'm truly inspired, about the culture I see and the new way of life I experience. So join me because I'm sure this will be an adventure for the ages.

Well, I can't actually ... read more

This isn't really unusual considering I've grown up in America as an African American woman. I've been told that society will make it hard for me to succeed because of my race, since I was hold enough to understand who exactly 'they' were. However, I'm not writing this to discuss the woes of being a minority in America. Instead, I was inspired to write, because the beautiful 76 year old women who warned me in an airport in Kentucky, is German. Lydia is her name and she taught me a few things while she helped me spend as close to the 18 dollars I had ... read more
