The Romans sure knew how to party ;-) Pompeii have long been on my bucket list and when I go there I expect I will visit Naples away and this just made my list of places to visit. ^_^
I can take Italy piece by piece I am lucky. I live in Sweden and it is easy and relatively cheap to fly to Italy. I can see Italy piece by wonderful piece. If you live further away you will need a long time only to see the most important places. /Ake

Only scratching the surface We all only scratch the surface when we visit a city a short time. I have read many blogs from places I have visited and thought I was finished with only to find out that I missed a lot of interesting places /Ake
Pedestrian crossing Love this close up of where many feet and chariots have trod. Thanks for reviving my memories of a trip I took there with my daughter last February.
I hate all creepy crawlies, esp big ones LOL How big was this one? I have been to Indonesia & seen komodo dragons too, agree, they're scary. I don't mind little geckos though. I had some in my rental in Penang. After I got used to them & convinced myself they wouldn't fall off the ceiling onto my face while I was sleeping, I found them comforting as they ate mosquitos.
I have seen Komodo Dragons I sense a bit of a hesitation against lizards. I then have to tell you that I have been to Komodo Island in Indonesia and there I saw Komodo Dragons. They are three meters long and they are the only lizards that see humans as food. They are scary! /Ake
You are right again, they are frescoes. I guess I should have known that. Thanks for pointing out my mistake. I really appreciate that because now I can correct it and hopefully I also learn something. /Ake
Emma running a flat section near Arild This is just how I imagine Swedish countryside. Thanks for sharing this part of the world. Reminds me of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
We are Emma Holmbro and Ake Dahllof. We live in Stockholm, Sweden.
We have travelled more or less regularly since the mid 1990-ies and it seems like the more we travel the more difficult it is to decide where to go next. Not because we are running out of places to visit but because we find more places we want to go to faster than we manage to travel to them.
Some of the things from our travel bucket list we have ticked off since we started this blog in 2006 are

Pompeii is a given on my bucket list, I really need to go there soon and see this splendour myself. ^_^
