Now I'm seeing them in my dreams One of the delights of this "we" blog (by both of you) is that we out there will find we are checking out little green men. Now that you have embedded the images in our brains t'will be great to see what we come up with. Well done!
And I fear that you won't thank me for it... Next time you go abroad and cross a light assisted pedestrian crossing you think "wonder what 'the green man' looks like here", you will take a look and then I fear that you will curse me for making you look :-) It's happened before when I point things out to people. I make people look, they curse me for making them look and after that they give me a smile which says "but I love you anyway". /Ake
Great idea! I love that you thought to do this... I've often noticed the differences, but never thought to document it. I find the countdown clock very useful in foreign countries, as the timing of lights can be hard to fathom at very big or busy intersections. Are you on Instagram? I can see an account with this sort of focus getting a cult following :)
Kenya is known for their fast runners Many of the best middle and long distance runners in the world are from Kenya, so it makes sense that the "green man" in Kenya runs fast /Ake
Thanks Thanks for reading it and we are glad you liked it. If you look at the blog entry again about a month from now will will have updated it with a nice addition - a Pride version where two "Little green people" of the same sex hold hands. /Ake

Little green men Those little men move more like sprinters than walkers!!! Perhaps that's their way of urging pedestrians to move quickly in cities where automobiles just might not wait for them to finish crossing. :)
Yes, some of them run fast Yes, you are right. The moving ones look more like they are running. If you look at the blog entry again about a month from now will will have updated it with a nice addition - a Pride version where two "Little green people" of the same sex hold hands. /Ake
Love heart traffic lights We've just come back from Iceland and in Akureyri in the north the red traffic lights are in the shape of a heart - this was done to cheer people up when the country went bankrupt in 2008 and they have kept them! Is Iceland on your list? It's amazing!
Iceland is not yet on the list but we will add it in the future Thank you for telling us about the Icelandic lights. We are very grateful when people tell us about interesting things we yet haven't added to the blog. We haven't visited Iceland since we began this blog entry. But it is on the agenda. We will visit Iceland soon and then we will probably make an exception and add the red version as well. Thanks Thank you for reading the blog and it feels good that you enjoyed it. I first saw the countdown seconds in Beijing in China in 2001. Little green men indeed... The version from Paris reminds me of the the aliens supposedly found at Area 51 in the US. Of course, those aliens were not green, but gray. Maybe the Parisians are just more fashionable.....
You are right We never thought about that. But now that you say it we can see it too. The French ones look like something out of an X-files episode. /Ake

Art for Art's sake Wasn't Pompeii really really hot? Wasn't that the place consumed by a volcanic eruption? Surely that explains why they didn't wear clothes...must have been really, really, really hot!!!
We are Emma Holmbro and Ake Dahllof. We live in Stockholm, Sweden.
We have travelled more or less regularly since the mid 1990-ies and it seems like the more we travel the more difficult it is to decide where to go next. Not because we are running out of places to visit but because we find more places we want to go to faster than we manage to travel to them.
Some of the things from our travel bucket list we have ticked off since we started this blog in 2006 are
