Yea! Here we go! We stayed at the Hilton at the Marina in Ft. Lauderdale last night... beautiful place, huge yachts all over the place and right across from the Cruise terminal. Look up the yacht, Kismit, Georgetown! WOW is the only word for it and it's docked right here. We're getting ready to take a cab across the street, can't walk there... and should be eating great food in a couple of hours. ... read more

Room 339 at the Sleep Inn in Phoenix

Yea! We can hardly believe that tomorrow morning at O-dark 6:50am we are off. Southwest will take our baggage FREE ;-) to Austin, Texas and on to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Decided to give our friends Sharon and Dave (who are traveling with us...or us with them... or something like that) a royal sendoff. So right here in our room at the Airport Sleep Inn in Phoenix, sitting on the bed I craftily cut letters out of a magazine to spell out S and D, Europe or Bust...while Cope blew up balloons. Then... we tip toed down the hall and taped it all to Sharon and Dave's door, then we did the serious adult thing... knocked hard and loudly and ran like hell back down the hall to our room laughing all the way. Hi Everyone, well the trip is getting closer and closer and we're getting very excited. We took a trip into Beverly Hills and I got my hair cut. Andrea, at the Ken Paves Salon does such a great job and Oliver, the cutest little dog was there... here's his picture... We're checking things off the list but the list seems to just keep growing! On our way back to Colton, California (my sister Linda's house) we stopped at a great place for lunch on Melrose, (Italian of course ;0) FROMA- 7960 Melrose, nice wine list too. Hi Everyone, what a week we are having. Trying to tie up loose ends before we leave for 10 weeks is a little daunting! But... we did splurge on a mini-netbook and are really loving it. It weighs 2.6 pounds! So, we'll try to let you know where we are and what we're doing. The kick off date is a week from Friday, April 29th, when we'll fly from Phoenix to Ft. Lauderdale to hook up with our cruise to Gibraltar, Great Britain as the first stop on our journey.During the next week, we'll try to learn how to put up photos.
