The International Citizen Service with Raleigh International in Nicaragua 2013

a trip by Adam Leslie Scanlon
From: July 2nd 2013
Until: September 10th 2013

At the age of 19 I was living in a small rural village called El Cacao in Northern Nicaragua for 10 weeks. I was with different volunteers from the UK and in country volunteers from Nicaragua. It was a homestay and each British volunteer had a 'Nica' volunteer with them living in a house in the village. With very limited phone signal and internet access at around once every 3 weeks it was a surprisingly enjoyable shock to my system. This was my first big adventure and opened doors and my eyes to the world.

When I return to the UK next February I will upload my diary as I have photos and photocopies of drawings in my diary which I wrote whilst I was there. There's over 60,000 words which I handwritten and then had to type up on my laptop when I returned.
