So we have spent the last five days visiting family and friends in England. We started off in Manchester seeing the girls and boys I used to work with at the Christie which was so great. It felt like just yesterday that I was there. We then went to Sheffield and stayed at Emma and Ryans place, Alana came along too so we had a great couple of nights with awesome friends. It was then down to London, where we spent three nights with James and Julie. I caught up with Megan, Jason and Michelle which was so nice and then Vicki on Thursday. Wednesday night we had some dirty old Mexian where Julie and I polished of a jug of margerita's, so good. Thursday we had a lovely night out at a Belgium beer cafe ... read more

It has been a full week since our last entry, so we have got lots to tell. Our flight out of SA was not the best flight in the world. It was full to the brim with people, absolutley no space to move whatsoever and neither Aaron or I mangaed to sleep at all, so by the time we arrived in Heathrow we were shattered. Unfortunatley bad organisation on our part meant we had an eight hour wait before our flight to Dublin, and we didn't get our A into G fast enough to go into London for a couple of hours, so we had a long long wait before we finally made it to our destination. I have never ever been so happy to get somewhere when we got off the plane in Dublin. We ... read more

Pilanesberg was just incredible! We got picked up by our guide form the airport and started the 3 hour drive out to the park. As soon as we got there we took a couple of hours and went on our first game drive, within a few minutes we saw our first animal, a Black Backed Jackel, followed by a family of Warthog. I can definatley say that the Warthog were my favourite animals, they were just so cute. On the drive we saw Wilderbeast, Zebra, lots of variations on Buck, Impala and Kudu along with some Giraffe. We were just on our way to the campsite when we spotted some Elephant. We drove along a little further and smack bang in the middle of the road was a huge bull Elephant. We ended up having to ... read more

The last two days we had in Cape Town were jam packed full of things for us to do, it was a heap of fun. After the shark diving on saturday we did a cape peninsular and Stellenbosch wine tour on the Sunday. Unfortunately the weather was not the best, but we were pretty lucky with the shark diving so we can't complain to much. On Monday we had a day to ourselves so we decided to take ourselves for a walk and went to Green Market Square which is a classic african market in the middle of Cape Town and then we carried on down to he Cape Town waterfront for an extremely cheap and delicious seafood lunch. We waited until the afternoon to climb table Mountain and I am glad we did because the ... read more

Well what can I say.......... Shark cage diving was an experience that we will definately never ever forget. It was epic! The day started off pretty calmly, we had the most incredible weather which is really lucky considering how terrible the weather has been in Cape town this last week. We were picked up about 9:00am and started the 2 hour drive out to Gansbaai which would have been fine except none of the 13 people on a 12 seater bus realised the diving was two hours away. Lets just say we all got to know each other extremely well in that 2 hours. Needless to say the drive was amazing, absolutely beautiful. It was quite surreal for me to be driving through towns like Somerset West and Hermanus which I have memories of, but are ... read more

The last couple of days have been just fantastic. We spent Wednesday at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens with my Granny and Oupa, these gardens are all indigenous plants and trees and have an incredible waterfall at the far end with a nest of Black Eagles that have made it their home. We were fortunate enough to just sneak a peak of one of the eagle's perched in its nest. We had a great day out and a fantastic lunch. This is one of my Grandparent's favourite places. What was more remarkable than anything else though, is that we managed to get my Granny in a wheelchair! We still don't quite know how it happened but we got her in one, which meant that she could come with us right through the garden. It also meant ... read more

Today we had the most fantastic day with my uncle Chappie. He took us to the Cradle of Man Kind, which is where they have found some the earliest evidence of early man kind. We started out at the origin centre in Johannesburg, then headed to Marupeng which is large museum/interactive centre where they discribe the development of man kind. From here we went to the Sterkfotein caves which was just incredible... so vast! Unbelievable to think that the rocks we were standing on were well over 2 million years old! Aaron luckily also got to see his first lions in a semi wild enviroment we saw them from the road at a breeding centre. Which was pretty cool... read more

Well after one of the longest flights of my life, we are safe in sound in Johannesburg. We thought it would be all clean sailing until we were about to get onto our connecting flight in sydney when the announced that we would be being diverted through Perth as a result of the volcano erupting. So after waiting nearly an hour on the plane in sydney for some late passengers, then after an 4and half hour flight we had to wait on the plane in Perth for an hour and half while they re fueled then an 11 and half hour flight through to Jburg.... We were shattered by the end of this as well as 4 hours later than expected. But it is amazing seeing my grandparents again. I am so glad that Aarons has ... read more
