Cold here too! Hi folks
Glad you've arrived safely. Yes Bangkok is a long way, especially when you think of it as a stop over to break the journey.
Photos are great especially the glacial lake which looks fantastic!
Hope you get the heating working soon. It's be pretty cold here and I actually put the heating on yesterday, as got too cold to concentrate on the Sunday papers! It might have helped had we moved off our backsides!
You missed a good day on Saturday with the Dunning 500. I managed to sell 4 of my mounted photos and some junk. Jan & Jacky did well too and dressed up (see photos on facebook), unlike me in just a witches hat. The rain managed to hold off until the end and there were loads of folk in the park with plenty of stalls. Manged to get Joe, Caroline & Andy in the stocks but unfortunately no tomatoes to hand!
By the way you didn't win anything later at the Duck Race (neither did I). There was music in the Dunning later with Jim, Joe and Ray creating a great atmosphere.
Anyway hope all goes well and Scotland win at the rugby (not that I really give a ....!).
Take care and happy travelling! Sx
Hello. Hi Alan and Liz,
Joyce (Falconer to you). Grant sent me the link to your blogg. Looks like you are covering a lot of ground. Pictures look great. I have visited a lot of Italy, but it is nice to see it from a different perspective. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and I will monitor your progress now I have the link.
Cheers, Joyce.
It's raining, what do we do now? Do what you usually do when it's raining!!!!!!!!!(te he) Can't remember when we last had rain, it's been sun, sun sun on a thick bed of snow!!!! lots of hugsXXX
Hi Alan and Liz
Taormina looks lovely , just the kind of place Fiona and I love ! You're spot on about Italian drivers , we were also convinced that all Italian cars had no indicators fitted ! And Italians park by bumping their way into their chosen gap !
Hope you've found a suitable bar to watch the Calcutta Cup : 3 nil to Scotland after 14 mins...... Shit , 3 all now ! (Damn that Jonny Wilkinson!!!)
Love Mike , Fiona and Rory xxx
GPS coords Positioning coordinates in decimal as well as conventional deg:min:sec IF YOU PLEASE :D
Sistine chapel looks much brighter inside than when we were there. They must have had the blinds open that day.
All I remember is dimness and muted weeping from the pilgrims.
Alan - ever tried travel sickness pills ? If you can't get hold of them, cannabis works just as well =D
If using the latter, don't take immediately prior to travel. Give it half an hour or so.
So much to tell you about the fish, but don't want to interrupt your flow...
Missing you :(
small but perfectly formed (or was)!! Bach gum lad, it musta bin gud ti see t'tomb o Rossini. I missed that when I was in FLorence. Did you go up the Duomo or the Tower? Move over Scotts monument!!! Happy roaming in Rome!! XXX
Thanks So I finish a particularly long and arduous gynaecology theatre list to find a picture message on my mobile of you guys drinking beer at 8000 ft in a snowy pastiche.
Thanks....not :D
Great pics ! Really enjoying the blog , photos are excellent !
Sierra Navada looks lovely as does Alhambra.
Hope you guys were strutting your stuff at the flamenco night ?!
Mike
many happy returns of the day I would like to wish Liz a belated "happy birthday". I have enjoyed reading your blog but will stay out of the family squabbles. Plenty of my own.
Bob
monserrat Looks an amazing place. Definiltly have to get there sometime. Lou is up for a trip to Barcalona some time and Monserrat would be the icing on the cake
Look out for the big gun emplacements south of Cartagena near La Azoha. Well worth cycling into. Dont attempt the van.
It's the last day for the Fletchers tomorrow, the new owners take over on Thursday.
Jim...
if i was jeannie i'd be annoyed Oi Dad, when does Jeannie get to progress from 'work collegue' to 'friend'. surely a few world adventures does it!
:)
love to you both.
Gouffre Hi Alan and Liz , glad the travels are going so well.
We all remember the Gouffre well , one of Fiona's "unique experiences" that Rory and I take the p*** out of her about !
Photos are great : where are you off to next ?
Regards
Mike , Fiona and Rory xxx
It's stopped raining Lake Capse is in the head waters of the Ebro which seemingly is one of the top Carp/catfish fisheries in Europe. So prey tell me why you don't have your rods with you? Looks like the weathers holding, apart from the odd convective rain shower.
Flooding. I'll give you flooding. Moray and Elgin got whacked at the beginig of the month so I've been kinda' busy. No salmon worth a dam.
Jim...
The Bridge I saw a show on Channel 4 about how they made that bridge. It was almost...interesting.
I'll try to show more interest when you get to Spain.
Bran is snoring again. His ball (tennis) was pinched a Golden Retriever up at the Polo Field who then ran off into knee-high grass and dropped it, never to be found again. Silly dug. Another visit to Pet-At-Home for balls hehe.
Well I now have a very pert little bum, with all this cycling, however I haven't lost any more weight!
Hi Girls, I am the pert little bum she is referring to!
Hi from Dunning! Hi folks,
Photos are great and sounds like you are really enjoying yourselves. Not sure I could have coped with the cycle ride, so maybe Muriel's got the right idea.
Now Alan I know you say you scored Brownie points for dyeing Liz's hair but what's the hair like Liz, I notice there are no photos of you at this stage? Is it really Luscious Lillie or Busy Lizzy?
Look forward to the next blog! Keep living the dream.
Take Care.
