kiss and tell hi. great blog. i've really enjoyed it. just wanted to say something about public displays of affection. this had 0.0% to do with valentines day. chilean couples (especially younger ones) always make out in public, and parks are quite popular for this. since many live with their parents and there isn't much privacy at home, they take their lip-locking to the streets. also, santiago has very little colonial structures, mostly just a few churches and buildings around down town. most of barrio brasil dates from the the 1890s through the 1930s. cheers!
Latest from the UK Hi Jase,
The photos are looking awesome and sounds like you're still having a blast, though I've not worked out when you sleep yet, and if you think I'm going to believe you when you say you spent Valentine's day reading a book in what, by your own admission, is the make-out capital of the world, then you are very much mistaken. I bet you didn't even take a book ;-)
If you're near a cinema again, don't go see Babel. Not because it's bad (it's actually very good, if you like films like amores perros) but because it's mostly in Moroccan/Spanish/Japanese so without subtitle's you'll be absolutely buggered. (Oh, and everyone seems to be calling it 'babble' at the moment)
While you've covered Bolivia and large portions of Chile, not much has happened back in Blighty. Oh, except Paul's said he's probably going to move to London in April.
Meanwhile, in England pt 2 Not a good night in the friendlies. Both England and France lost 1-0, and England looked toothless in attack, as usual.
Still, it's supposed to snow here tomorrow. Might take the day off and build a snowman :-)
Meanwhile, in England Hey Jason, sounds like you're having a barrel of laughs, so as a contrast I thought I'd let you know what's happening back here. Hope it doesn't drive you into staying away ;-)
Paul's back from Oz, and it's bloody freezing. As soon as he left, England started winning in the cricket.
England play Spain in a friendly tomorrow and France take on Argentina, I'll let you know the scores.
Smacking it up. Was he imitating the actual injecting heroin into the veins in his arms or the Shaney boy style; smacking your arm to get your veins up?
Thanks for sending me the link to your blog. I was talking about it to a friend who has done a lot of travelling and he says Lima is probably the worst place you can go. So the only way is up!
Parteeeei Hey mate, glad to see you made it there safely and are rockin' it up in the Hostel. Will be keeping an eye on your blog to see what you're up to. Have fun!
