Day 2 ón Ko Phi Phi

Diving and a head cold dó not mix. Nothing a little discomfort and patience can't take care of. A bit worried about what would happened having had a head cold for a few days. The first dive was not one of my finer moments. Took longer than normal to descend as my ears didn't want to equalize. Eventually perserverance won and i reached bottom. Two dives later and i was back in the boat. Having seen a turtle, sea snakes, three moray eels, and too many fish to recall, i chalked it up as a successful day of diving. Ón Tuesday i head out again for three diVes, my first wreck dive and shark point where i hope to run across ...you guessed it...sharks.

I read about ko Phi Phi being a popular destination and they were All right. It is crazy busy, but there are places one Can get away from it All. Just a longboat ride away! The sand is soft, the beaches clean, the water clear. From the boat ride in it looks very unassuming, but once ón the Island you find yourself immersed in store after restaurant after store agtede 7-11. Yes even ko Phi Phi has a 7-11, two of Them in fact!

Imagine this, you arrive at ko Phi Phi ón the ferry from ao Nang not exactly where the hotel you booked the Night before is located. Thankfully there is a guy with a sign directing you onto a longtail boat! After 5 min Cruise around the Bay you arrive at your destination. After checking in a "bellboy" takes your pack and træls you to follow him. Along a sandy path, over some tree roots, up a Hill, down a Hill, over some more tree roots, across a large log, ocean ón one side, leaves ón another along a stretch of beach then up another path with tree roots, finally i have arrived... Bunglow #16 Viking Nature Resort! No paved walkways, no roads, no vehicles, no tv, no mini bar, no ac, just a cozy bungalow ón stilts overlooking the Bay complete with a Porchz with lounge chairs and a hammock. Welcome to paradise!
