FAIRY MEADOW- NANGA PARBAT 8125M BASE CAMP TREK
From the Raikot bridge on the Karakuram Highway a jeep able trek forks off accompanying the Dimar Valley to the Fairy meadow, that offers easy access to an above 8000M peak base camp and one of the world’s finest mountain panoramas with several excellent short side trips and climbs. The jeep road from Raikot Bridge to Jehal is unforgettable with a dramatic gorge (that drops 200M), takes around 2hrs then 2-3 hrs walk to the Fairy Meadow 3300M. At the end of jeep road you can also arrange horse ridding to the Fairy Meadow and also to ahead. From the Fairy Meadow there are many side trips and climbing opportunities of below 6000M peaks like famous Buldar Peak 5600M and Jalipur Peak 5200M.


ITINERARY:

Day-01: Arrival to Islamabad airport, meeting withour guide, transfer to the hotel and sightseeing in the rest of time, overnight at hotel

Day-02: Drive to Chilas (13-15 hrs) from Islamabad on the Karakoram Highway through Manseha, Besham and Khoistan. In the way many stops at view points for photography, lunch at Besham. Overnight

Day-03: Continue on Karakoram Highway to Raikot Bridge 1-2hrs, 55km east of Chilas then transfer to the local 4x4 jeeps to Jehal 1-2hrs, 15km on off-road then easy walk 2hrs, nearly 5km with 640m ascent from Jehal (2660m) to Fairy Meadow 3300m. Overnight in the tents

Day-04: Trek 1-2 hrs to Beyal (3500m) with 200m ascent. The trial passes through lush chir pine and fir forest with birch-lined stream for 30 minutes then next is along the stream, parallel to the glacier but gradually moves away from the terrace’s edge. At Beyal 3500m, the valley opens here, meadow filled with wildflowers, gives views of down valley of Indus. You will walk around the Beyal and some relaxing time, overnight in the tent.

Day-05: Excursion trek to Nanga Parbat Base Camp 3960m with ascent of 470m and also descent down to Beyal (6-7 hrs) for overnight in the tents. The trail continues through scattered Junipers and birches to an obvious huge boulder called view point 3670m then trail passing through stands of birch and pockets of the fragrant the climbs 125 m 45 minutes to the top of moraine and continues through rolling upland to

a cairn at moraine’s edge, descend to cross an out wash stream and reaches the Ganalo Glacier. A marked route across the rubble covered Ganalo Glacier leads to Base Camp (3960m) around one hour. It is 3-4 hrs treks from Beyal and descent down 2-3 hrs to Beyal for overnight in the tent.

Day-06: Trek down to Jehal 2-3hrs and by local jeeps to Raikot Bridge then transfer to mini bus and continue to Chilas, overnight at hotel or Raikot Bridge drive to Gilgit 2hrs, overnight at hotel

Day-07: Continue to Islamabad from Chilas, overnight at hotel OR fly from Gilgit to Islamabad, 1hr flight that is mountain flight

Day-08: Departure from Islamabad (drop to the airport)
