Early rising is not for us. We're not those kinds of travellers. We're more of the dirty, smelly and now being added to the list, lazy kind of trekking girls. I would like to say that it's strictly due to the heat, to the days closing in on us where we're unable to sleep till noon. When the time is not gripping us to heave on our packs but instead casually and oh so cooly just lay out in the sun beaten patio deck with a local beer. Yes, doesn't that sound better. Lazy can be a delicious sin.

Yangshuo, the city where we landed after being twisted through small villages of noodles and the greenist karst mountains is where we've been hanging out for the past few hours. Haven't been here long and the first reaction is: i'm in a postcard

till I saw a mcdonalds. for some reason that never seemed to be in the magazines or postcards that I would buy.

The locals are friendly and very naturally loving a foreigner to make a buck on. It's ok,if you're aware of it. I'm feeling the joy a getting a good bargain, and hacking my way to a purchase that I can be proud of. Sometimes though I won't lie, it is tiresome.

The beauty here is overwhelming and all around. Our cameras have been out in hand proving to everyone we are tourist, and rightfully proud. I'm glad to be here. We'll hope to spend a few nights here, and the walking actually begins!
