Today felt like two days in one. The first part was two short flights that felt like eternities for some reason! We flew from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, then from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Some of the information on Stacy's entrance visa was incorrect so it took a wild goose chase to track down a computer to print a new one. We ran all over that blasted airport then finally got some food. I chose a really authentic Asian dish--grilled tuna melt. On the second flight we watched a little Step Up Revolution and dreamed about dancing some sick moves like they do. It took a while for them to review our visas when we landed so we were really nervous about not getting in. Some of Stacy's info was still wrong but they eventually let us in anyways. Hopefully we can get back out! Riding in our taxi, we had some major anxiety about the m i l l i o n s of scooters/motorbikes in this city! I felt like we were in a sea of speeding, weaving little evil kneivels (sp?). Frightening. The city is so huge and nice. A lot cleaner than chiang mai and more advanced, seemingly. We met up with two of Stacy's friends who were in Asia for part of an MBA program. Our hotel is very nice! The bathtub sparkles, we have bath robes and slippers... luxury compared to our Chiang Mai Hotel. We wandered to a little outdoor place that the other two had found the night before and had a huge plate of grilled shrimp, some pineapple shakes, and some tasty spring rolls. Naturally ice cream followed that meal at another little place down the road. I'm not a huge ice cream person so I opted for a lemon smoothie 😊 mom will appreciate that--she's a lemon-aholic. By that time it was like 930pm so we still had time to squeeze in our SECOND foot massage of the day (the first was in the Chiang Mai terminal). So far Thai massages trump Vietnamese massages, but who's complaining... they both felt awesome. Pretty cool what $10 can get you here! Tomorrow will be our only full day in Vietnam so we will be squeezing in a lot, I'm sure. This post is kind of a shorter one, sorry!
