The harmonious combination of “blue sea – white sand – golden sunshine” has created a beautiful Ganh Da Dia – Da Dia Reef Phu Yen that cannot describe in words. This place is a unique geological structure with black and yellow basalt rocks in all kinds of conceivable shapes spread over an area of more than a square kilometre along the edge of the sea. From a distance, it looks like a giant black beehive. It was created by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago. The lava, when it came in contact with the water, cooled, contracted and fractured and formed vertical or horizontal columns before becoming polygonal rocks like they are today. Besides this sea cliff, there are only four other places on earth that have this magnificent phenomenon. These are Giant’s Causeway in Northern ... read more

We got an overnight bus from Hoi An to Nha trang so arrived at 6am in the middle of town. The first thing that was noticeable was the amount of Russian signs and people that were around. There were hundreds of fat old men with gold chains round their necks and little budgie smuggling speedos. A very unforgettable sight for all the wrong reasons! The women were that much better, which shattered my view that all Russian women looked like Maria Sharapova. Our hostel was run by a group of very over the top friendly Vietnamese women. They would fuss over you like a group of mother hens, which was great for a short time but grew very tedious. Over the top friendly emotion is not one of my fortés. So it was time to have ... read more

Well we've all met up and have so far survived a week of Vietnamese highs and lows, which I believe none of us expected. We arrived in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) with little knowledge about this war-scarred yet thriving civilisation - our concepts and expectations being largely based on the famous Top Gear Vietnam episode - but we have since been given brutal reminder of the atrocities of war, and more personally, Sam, Sam and Harry have had to adjust fast to life in Asia, where if you're a tourist, you're a target; if you have money, they will try to take it. Happily, the transition for all of them has been largely smooth and the haggling spirit has set in to the group. We've also set up a rough route plan - meeting Marc in ... read more

This is a long overdue of keeping a blog!!! I just had the chance to blog just this Dragon Year 2012. I usually keep a journal notebook since I was about 10 years old but now is the time to engage through the busy highway of internet. I guess, im a late bloomer for this hehe lol (laugh out loud) Facebook is still popular although there's a rebellion of facebook haters these days. The era of multiply or friendster are gone. Twitter, is here to stay as Yahoo is struggling to stay. Google, is the friendly neighborhood, the apple of knowledge. Wikipedia is here for free info and for you to edit some facts or whatever you wanna add. These blog will be my portal to express my thoughts, to tell stories in a photo. A ... read more

Nha Trang to 'Jungle Beach' The ride from Nha Trang to Jungle Beach was another really enjoyable ride, but boy was it hot. We set out north from Nha Trang a little late in the day after enjoying a nice lie in and perhaps regretting leaving such a nice place so quickly. We almost immediately lost each other on the road, George thinking Kathryn was behind him when she was actually ahead having taken a slightly different road. However the wait wasn't any hardship with such beautiful views. We continued around a hill and got our first glimpse of the many vistas of the day out over what we'd describe as a fjord (no parrots though!). Then we moved into a really wide area of rice paddies. We eventually found ourselves riding out onto a peninsula, ... read more

In two years 2010 and 2012, I made two trips to Tuy Hòa city. It was interesting that on my first trip to the city I traveled by bus from Quy Nhơn (96km, from north) and on the second trip I traveled by motorbike from Nha Trang (120km, from south). On both trips I flew back home in Hanoi from Tuy Hòa airport. I was lucky to have the chance to see the landscape along the coastline. It was so beautiful, not only the beaches, but also the mountain scenery, rice fields and small towns along the way. Tuy Hòa is the capital city of Phú Yên province. It is one of the provinces in the south central region of Vietnam which is often affected by typhoons, rain and flood during the rainy season, especially from ... read more
