Today we woke up to yet another nice day although there were a few clouds on the horizon with a possible chance of rain.
We decided today was the day we would treat ourselves and head to the mud baths of Nha Trang. We firstly headed out for breakfast which wasnt anything exciting and we havent found anywhere that looks good for breakfast. We ate at some little place then we walked to go get a cab and walked past a place that looks great for breakfast....we will head there tomorow, its very hard just to get bacon and eggs on toast without something weird coming out on the plate like cucumber or soy sauce or just something in general.
So we got a cab through the back streets of Nha Trang which were really grose and very slumdog type places. I was hoping the cab driver understood where we were going when I said we were going to the Mud Baths as it didnt look like we were heading to nice hot springs and Mud Baths. We arrived at this place where there were heaps of Vietnamese and looked pretty cool from the front...it was more than I
expected judging on the cab ride there.
We didnt know what the hell to do or what we were suppose to buy to get into the Mud Baths but a lady came up to us and said we should go with the best package (of course) and so we did which was about 950,000 dong for the both of us which really isn't that much for a full VIP spa as they call it.
So we headed in with the hundreds of other Vietnamese all running around with towels and funky little day spa outfits. We seriously had no idea where to go or what to do. We dropped our belongings off in the locker and set out to see what our ticket had to offer. We approached the mud baths and they took our ticket and directed us to a little bath for two which the guy then turned on the tap and all this warm mud poured into the bath. I was super excited to get into it but I dont think Adam was so sure. We jumped in and it was amazing well I thought it was anyway. We put the mud all over us
including our faces and just hung out in it for about 25 minutes. It really set the scene when the rain started and we had a beautiful view of the hills as we sat in our warm mud bath. We then showered in the hot spring water and were directed to the next part of our spa.
We headed into the rainforest where we approached our own big bath and a private area under a big cabana with 2 massage chairs. The guy that showed us to the big bath then filled it with the natural hot srping water and put in these two big herbal tea bags along with some other herbal stuff....we were in one big hot cuppa herbal tea, it was awesome and soooooooooooooo nice. He delivered us some funky little outfits which consisted of shorts and a singlet for after the spa along with some watermelon, water and some refresher towels. We sat in the big cup of tea for 45 minutes, ate our water melon and just chilled out whilst the rain hit the top of our umbrella, it was truely so relaxing and quite possibly the most relaxed I think Adam and I
have ever been.
2 ladies approached our spa and asked us to get out take our clothes off pretty much in front of them and get into our funky little spa outfits. Adams shorts were so tight it was awesome!! We then got an amazing foot massage followed by a full body massage after they asked us if we wanted it for an extra 150,000 dong plus a tip...we said YES PLEASE!! We havent had a Vietnamese massage yet and it was awesome, very hard but really good. She cracked everything including my neck both ways which cracked aboutt 3 times each side. I could tell Adam was also in paradise as he had a little snore in the middle of the massage. We then got back in our swimmers and hopped in the hot spring bath which was also really nice and refreshing. That was the end of the spa treatment and so we headed back to our hotel to freshen up, our skin feels amazing and was certainly very worth while if you are visiting Nha Trang.
On the way home we found what looked like a cool shopping centre called Nha Trang Centre. We walked
down to check it out but it wasnt much at all. We got back to the hotel and booked our flight to Hoi An. We wanted to leave here tomorrow but there were no flights till Wednesday. We are booked into Hoi An for 3 nights and who knows what the accommodation will be like but it seems like it is in a really good location and reviews good. In Hoi An we will get some clothes made and do lots of shopping, much to Adams disgrace but I havent done any shopping since we have been here as I am saving it for Hoi An.
Tonight we went out to a Vietnamese restaurant called Kirins, we knew we had to try something different from our favorite restaurant De Fernando's. Well we both didn't like it at all. The meat just isnt like it is at home, the chicken lemongrass dish I ordered was pretty good but you still get bones in the chicken. Adam ordered the beef cashew nut and that was terrible as the meat was pretty much like eating a tough sandshoe, in other words we were not impressed and probably wont try anymore vietnamese food.
If we do we will definately be sticking to a chicken noodle dish. Oh I did have a sour chicken soup which was pretty dam good.
We then thought it would be rude of not to go have a few drinks and so we headed to Crazy Kims which is a great pub. We had some cocktails (these cocktails are killing me with kindness and the scales are not going to be friendly with me when I get home) and a few games of pool.
Tomorrow is our last day in Nha Trang and we are certainly ready to move on. We have enjoyed our stay here but we both think it is a little bit dirty. I just think that it is hard to stay at a decent place in terms of accommodaton unless you stay at the Sheraton which is $190 per night or the Novotel which is where we have booked in for the last night. They say they are 4 star which is the one we are in now but it certainly isnt 4 star and is pretty grose and a little bit stinky. Tomorrow we are hoping it will be another sunny day
and we will go jet skiing and just have a beach day. It seems that one day out of the sun I have lost my tan.
Thats all for now missing everyone sooooooooooo much as we hvae lots of celebrating to do when we get home xxxx
