Talita's reading the BIG red one!

Tuesday, March 31st

The morning dawned rainy so we postponed our jog and slept a little late. The route to our favorite breakfast spot took us past the dive shop and Simon called us in. He wanted to know how long we were planning to stay. We told him that we were leaving the following day for Mui Ne, then flying to Bangkok on the 8th. He said that Tu told him we were interested in doing the Rescue Diver Course but that it was too expensive for us. He said he had a suggestion for us...

He offered both of us internships! Free accommodation and all the training we'd need to become qualified PADI dive instructors. After we're qualified we'd each get US$300 per month plus commission on each student we get through the course. It's not a lot of money but we can easily survive and even save a bit here. The internship will last 7 months to 1 year. The high season starts in April and they need the extra hands. They like us and said we were naturals and that we'd make great instructors. We'll have to study and dive like crazy cause to qualify for the instructor course we need 60 logged dives and to finish you need a 100.

We had to think about it because it's a rather big descision to make. We'd have to try and get our money back for the bus to Mui Ne (luckily it's not much) and see if we could move our flight to a much later date. We went home, very excited, to discuss it.

It didn't take long to make a descision, but we wanted to sleep on it. We emailed Simon and said we'd give him an answer the next day, but in the end we just couldn't say no. It's a little crazy but we told him we're in!

We spent the rest of the day laughing because guess what? April fools! Well, we kinda fooled ourselves too because as we were cooking up this fairy tale we really started to wish that it wasn't all fiction! We would've loved it if it were true!!! We even went so far as to check out the prices for becoming an instructor. It would cost us in the region of US$3000 per person which is a little steep. Also, our journey isn't even half way yet! Too many places to go and awesome things to see and do! If we really want to do it later we can always come back.

Instead of an exciting day, we spent our last day in Nha Trang in our room reading... Cause it was raining outside.

Today's highlights:
1. Cooking up an April fools story.
2. Spending a rainy day indoors reading.

Though for the day:
Don't make up stories, you might end up wishing they were true!

Imagine net hoe awesome dit wel sou gewees het, maar nou ja. Hoop alles gaan verder goed. Ek comment nie sommer nie, maar ek volg ELKE dag se stories en onthou, pas julle self op. GOD BLESS!!!
