Getting Amongst it in Vietnam!

Well Vietnam has been pretty low-key so far, but I'll fill you all in what I can. The tourist bus we were holding out for in Savanakhet turned out to be just a van. Of course it was overbooked it so we were jammed in there like sardines. But it got us across the border into Vietnam just the same. We were taken to a city called Dong-Ha, which is about 4 hours north of where we wanted to be, so we arranged a mini-bus to Hoi An. We were told that it would be direct, and that it would just be the five of us and three others. Well, direct actually meant stopping every couple kilometres to let more people on, and three other people quickly turned into 12 Vietamese people, 8 Vietamese ducks, and one Vietamese chicken. If the ebola from the last bus doesn't get us, we're going down with bird flu for sure!

We spent a few days in Hoi An getting clothes tailor made for us. Hoi An is so cheap that it quickly turns expensive as you're tricked into buying more. I spent more money in Hoi An in a few days than I did in all of Laos for almost 2 weeks!

Michelle and I caught the night bus to Nha Trang a few days ago, where we are now. Yet again a sleepless night on a bus - I shared my seat with a little old Vietamese man who got really cuddly in his sleep. Steph and Omar caught the bus the next night so we met up with them here. We went on a boat trip today to four islands for swimming, snorkelling, and other good boat fun. Somehow Steph, Michelle and I got sucked into singing Brown Eyed Girl for the whole boat, which unfortunately Omar got on video. Omar and Steph left us tonight so its back down to just Michelle and I. It won't be the same without them (we miss you guys already!)
