This is my 12 visit to Vietnam My current mission in Vietnam is going to the home villages of all my neices and nephews that have helped me in Vietnam In 2005 I biked from Hanoi to Saigon. Probably the greatest trip I ever experienced. I look forward to returning to Vietnam and enjoying the people and land of Vietnam. I will be staying with my former Rotary Exchange Student Trang and her husband Huan and daughter Sarah. I keep a bike at Trang's house and will be biking around Saigon on short trips. I asked: "Why no men doing this job?" The said: " We get the "hard" jobs, the men get the difficult jobs."

Indeed the men did have the "difficult" job. Here they are chipping their way through a concrete payment so the pipe can be layed through.

Boy points how high the flood water got in last flood

All the houses are built on a high elevation but sometimes they still fload. Last year they were so bad the government had to air drop food to them.

Over tea, she discusses the project. The locals were afraid of using river water because of polution.

This is where the tanks will be buried to collect water from perforated pipe. The water will be "settled" several times through a series of tanks before pumped to the water tower for the filtration, areation and chemical process. Then, clean water!!!
