Trains, Planes and Automobiles ….and cyclos, motorbikes, bicycles, walking, boats, ships, buses, I have used about every means of transportation in Vietnam. I have even used those big beat up looking old buses with carts of pigs, bicycles etc on top. They are the cheapest and in my opinion not bad at all. Most uncomfortable. Not for bad backs. You see these starting at Vinh Long and further South.

I won't take one of these in Saigon. I have never been able to hire an honest one. They agree on a price and at the end they go into a screaming act wanting more money. In Hanoi, they seem more civilized but they are way more expensive than a taxi. I wanted to ride a cyclo with Trang but I let her do the negociating.
