Fabulous find!
So happy that Bukhara exceeded your expectations! Your photos are great and the whole place sounds wonderful. I'd never heard that awful story of the two British officers, but I loved your comment of people throwing money down a hole. The Maghoki Attar Mosque also had a pretty amazing story--discovered when people saw its roof, and with remnants of a 5c Zoroastrian temple--seriously old! Hope your next destination has tourist hype because it's so fantastic!

Get you and your camera to Bukhara
Glad you enjoyed our tale on Bukhara, it is by far our favourite place on this trip, unfortunately our next destination Khiva was perhaps our worst which you will red about soon. You have to get over here Tara, your photography is the best, and I could only imagine how good your photos would be.

Thanks, you two!
Thanks for your kind words on my photos, but I also happen to love yours and voted on a bunch of them today, and like you, I could imagine living among all that beauty (though, like you, I like tasty food!)

Brilliant
Thanks guys I know we have been both thinking about starting our own buisness and now it's so obvious . When you come home we will smash up all our old crockery and start our own musuem . I can just stand there and say don't you just adore the Darius the third period and when they point out it says royal doltan that's when you guys jump in and sell them fragments of a mummy which in actual fact is stuff thats been sitting in my fridge for the last 5 years . Brilliant My fridge awaits

Broken Pottery Inc
Bloody brilliant, what's even better is I will try and glue the broken pottery back together with Airfix glue, making sure to leave lots of pieces out. Could possibly also sell our budgies as long dead budgies a sort of reverse dead parrot sketch. "yea I know governor, he is actually dead its just that his long lost soul is still pinning for the fjords"

Bukhara is a favorite
Ah sleeping in you lucky dog or have you just gotten lazy. Ha, kidding. Sounds like you had some good travel friends. Bukhara looks like a beautiful and well cared for city. Not sure I would have tried the water. Never know where you'll find an Aussie. I certainly don't like the bug pit idea.

Maybe not what it seems
The photo looks like we just stumbled upon some kid practising on a wall, but in fact he was part of an elaborate film/TV show. If we had used the wider photo you would see all the camera crew and actors - think this photo works better.

It's all in the timing
It's nice when you are in the right place at the right time and your camera battery isn't flat, thanks.

I feel the vibe.
This Town sounds so peaceful and looks just beautiful. I love the photo's too. What a cruel story, the one of the Brits. The mosques and minarets look so cared for and well kept. Nice facade too. The sunset moment at the cafe sounded amazing, its the simple things of nature's beauty that I feel one tends not to forget. Enjoy. Hopefully your next stop is just as nice, fingers crossed.
