We spend a couple of days waiting for our entry visa for Uzbekistan to start. In these parts visa are issued for pre arranged dates and our estimates were out by a couple of days. Not to worry things could be worse. The border crossing was relatively uneventful. Our car was searched pretty carefully, the security man doing the search asks Darren if we are carrying any Ak's. Seriously… we are tourists not the Taliban we have no machine guns. They laughed and seemed comfortable that we were genuine tourists and moved on to other areas. Our first aid kit was given the three times over. Fortunately for us we had a list of all prescribed medicines we were carrying which was taken, photocopied and researched. After a good half hour they gave us the necessary stamps to be on our way.
