The day of our first departure has finally arrived.
Sister Bepat is gone just after 05:00 presumably feeling better.
Jai goes off to pick some leaves to colour her hair whilst I check documents for the umpteenth time.
John pops in to wish us bon voyage or whatever they wish you in Germany.
I water the garden for the last time hoping that brother Pad will keep his promise and come and keep an eye on things form us in our absence.
Leave house on bike at 18:30. With Jai and a heavy bag on board as well as it being pitch black and having a dodgy road it is an unpleasant ride into town.
I drop Jai and the bags at the bus station then go and drop the bike off. As I walking back across town I pick up 120Bht, enough for our taxi ride to the hotel in Bangkok and a coffee each upon our arrival at the hotel.
Our bus is due at 20:00 but the bus station is very very quiet and the 19:00 bus leaves half empty. Someone makes the decision to scrap the 19:40 and 20:00 buses and shove us all onto the 19:30. A good idea in theory but beyond the organisational skills of all present. We eventually leave town at 20:10 with still a few empty seats.
